I'm tiring of the "Hella Flush" look myself, only because all the "JDM" guys are ripping of a VW style. The whole stretch tyre, wheel poke, fender pull, wheel tuck style has been with the Volkswagen scene since forever. Granted, the look does have its origins in the SoCal lowrider/hot rod scene, but dub guys have been doing this for a while.

Well maybe you're right regarding the VW thing. I had a Rabbit GTI 20 yrs ago and it was hellaflush in a late '80s sorta way. I should look for the pics ;)

lol I wonder is the cons out weight the pros:

Positive effects:

* Looks good!

Negative effects:

* Rims exposed to curb damage
* Tires distorted due to being fitted on a rim that is too wide, thus, requiring much higher inflation pressures to prevent excessive wear on the edges of the tread surface
* Rough choppy ride due to higher inflation requirements
* Possibility of tire coming off the bead if impacted
* Higher rate of wear and tear on suspension components and wheel bearings
* Poor directional stability due to wrong offset being used
* Increased understeer in FWD vehicles due to wider rear wheels
* Decreased turning radius
* Tires need to be changed more often
* Extra cost of a wider wheel

So apparently the 240SX guys in my town get extremely upset when people say that hella flush is stupid. Supposedly they do it to increase their contact patch and then told me my wheels were "pizza cutters" since they aren't that wide. I drive an Eclipse that makes maybe 110 at the wheels and is FWD, but apparently I need to be hella flush to transfer all that mad powah to the ground.

I think flush wheel/tire and fender looks good. Stretched tires on the other hand....no thanks.

Was never a fan of wide rims and super skinny tires....yuck.
