Hard to say 100% but I think the fuel regulator failed and filled the vac lines with fuel. I think the fuel was sparked by the alternator/starter somehow. I was in NY at the time but the person who started it said they never smelled fuel so if it was contained in the vac lines until the rail got pressure maybe. There was litterally nothing left so it is hard to say but it went up fast from what I understand. It was in my shop at the time and he pushed it out and put out a small fire that had started in the shop when he got back to the car the exstinguisher he first grabbed wouldn't put it out and it was a total loss extremely quickly I guess.

2012 has been one of the best years of my life, i was able to get my dream car (i wanted a Z since i was 7 years old) with all the mods i wanted, ordered her right after Nissan headquarters in Tochigi Japan was hit by the tsunami, waited patiently for Nissan to start production on my order, couldn't be happier!

Z wise:
Getting wheels from ISS Forged, first time spending that much for quality wheels and they have really set my car apart Un-Z related: Watching my son grow up who is now 12 months old. I spent 5 months home with him on paid parental leave, not many dads get to do that.

Five months paid parental LOA? Is that Canadian law? Who pays? These types of things intrigue me.

So basically: -There is 18 weeks of Maternal leave that only the mother can take -There are 5 weeks of Paternal leave that only the father can take -The remaining 32 weeks can be taken by either parent Usually the mother takes the whole year but in our case my wife got a crazy promotion to run the company so she went back after only 5 months and I took 5 months...could have taken more but went back to work early once we got him in daycare. The first 18 weeks for the woman is at 75% of your salary, same for the man, then it goes down to 55% for the remaining 24 weeks or something like that...there is a cap of 65K, so if you made like 250K a year...you max out at 65K (not 130) Its also more specific to Quebec, the rest of Canada doesn't work exactly the same...I think they might get 9 months officially...

The best moment of this year with my Z was going ZDayZ 2012. Got for the Z 20mm V1 spacers all around and Matte Black Vinyl roof top.
Got my M.A.S. and new job. Other than that half of this year has been a crappy one for me. Hope 2013 is better.

2012, Interesting year
-- hail damage, which resulted in the hood being repainted which it needed, all dents are gont -- getting nissan to replace the front bumper, for the dealer did not ask about not drilling the license plate bracket in. -- added a siebon carbon nimso type wing -- clear bra put on hood/fenders/front bumper -- replaced front and rear sway bars, with nimso sway bars Other than that enjoyed driving the Z and autocrossing it...
