26 dead after gunman assaults Connecticut elementary school, official says - U.S. News


Twenty-six*people were killed, including 18 children, when a gunman opened fire in a Connecticut elementary school Friday morning, a law enforcement official said.*The gunman, who is dead, was a 20-year-old from Connecticut, an official said. He was wearing all black and was carrying two 9mm handguns.

What kind of monster could walk into a kindergarten class and shoot children?

There is so much "bad" in the world that I usually barely give the daily news a second thought. I have a little girl in kindergarten, so this shooting really got to me.

Every parent's worst nightmare-

According to a news article, the shooter's primary target was his own mother.

My heart aches for this community, its just soo sad. I hope this fvcker rots in hell FOREVER.

Just heard about this over here in Oz. What a tragic waste of life. Our thoughts & prayers are with the families of the victims, surviving kids & teachers, & response teams who now have to live with this.

it's devastating beyond explanation. When I first heard the news, I literally got nausous. If you lay 20+ dead bodies of little children, I don't think you can hold tears. it's very emotional. I do not know how the familes are coping with this lost. Especially for parents, it's just absolutely horrible. May god rest those souls. :(

but they are saying he shot her at home, then went to the school. So senseless and sad.

I heard they are moving the bodies at night, in order to avoid any media coverage. It is very sad....

I don't think I've heard a story that's angered me so much as this one. They were just babies. What could they have possibly done to this psycho to deserve this. For this to not make any sense, with no clear motive makes this worst.

heard about this man, so sad. Apparently the guy had some mental/withdrawal issues. Sucks for the lil children they couldnt even defend themselves. If he was alive and I found him anywhere in CT no mercy.

I watched a dozen or more little girls walking by on some kind of excursion. They might have been 7-8 and the thought of doing harm to them is outrageous.
