Kennesaw, Georgia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Kennesaw MANDATES that a homeowner MUST own a firearm. The feds finally have my prints. And a background check. I don't even have speeding tickets. Lookup the statistics on how many licensed firearms holders are out commiting crimes. Criminals don't bother with the license. |

But this simple process is just begging for abuse - please dont take me wrong - I am sure most of the people are capable and law abiding individuals - its the whole "why do you need a gun" in the first place question that bothers me. I mean if no one had guns - you wouldnt need it right lol

Would you be as willing to rob someone or try to carjack them if you knew that there was a high chance of getting shot in the process? Our original lawmakers gave us the right to keep firearms because they wanted to be citizens, not subjects. |

And my neighbors... one's an old woman whose husband died not too long ago.. somebody broke into her window and ran off when she came home.. she was actually sad that they didn't stay for company. And the other... is constantly beating his wife.. cable/internet went out the other day and I called the service people while drunk.. I could hear the beatings going on.. and I told the op "You might want to hurry up, the neighbors beating his wife again." |

I forget where i read this comment. Not sure if it was on here or a different forum. But where it was the guy said it best. You don't wear your seatbelt hoping to get in an accident, just like you don't carry hoping to use it. I know I know two completely different things. But for some reason really drove the point home for me. The thing about a carry piece is it is a last resort, because if your going to present the gun then you better be ready to actually fire it. Most everyone that has a carry will tell you that they don't ever want to use it, but it is there if the situation were to arise.

The main reason for don't pull unless you intend to fire is it's not a showpiece. It's a weapon. It doesn't take sides or have feelings. If you're not ready to fire, the person on the other side will get it from you... and not have any reservations about firing. |
