Just returned home on Friday evening to this oncoming Hurricane. Took most of Sunday to break out, prep and test the generator and stage emergency supplies. The high winds aren't expected here in my part of MD until between 5PM and 2AM. Just tons of rain right now. Expecting power to be out for several days. Have plenty of food, water and blankets, and cars are all fueled up, so should be okay provided no structural damage or flooding happens here.

At least you and your Z are safe from the storm AK. That's trying to look at it glass half full. I can't imagine the amount of damage all the flooding and wind is going to have caused when it is all said and done. I hope everyone is safe that is in the line of these storms. This reminds me of last year when all the tornado's (or naders as some southerners refer to them) tore through Alabama. We were without power for over a week! All you can do at that point is protect yourself and ride it out and then let the insurance fix any damages as things come back online.

Thanks guys for you kind words. I'm okay so far. Z is parked at the hotel parking. I'm about 15 miles away from the evacuation barrier/Atlantic city. But wind is picking up very quickly. Only 3 hours left till the landfall passing by Atlantic city. My city falls right in the center of the hurricane. I'm really nervous. I have a feeling this is going to be horrible. Take a look at some of these pictures. My city already under water. From knee deep to waist deep water depending on how high or low area. High tide is right around the time landfall will happen. They are saying 8-10 feet high water is not unlikely.

About 1/2 mile away from my house http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...89431339_n.jpg This is one of the higher area in my city. It's called "The Walk". It's been under knee to mid thigh water all day. http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...85684725_n.jpg Wawa in Avalon http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s..._com/1ddij.jpg Going into my city http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...79110543_n.jpg My house is ONLY 1/4 mile from this shopping center (pathmark). This is where I shop everyday. if this is submerged like this, my house is under water right now (at least Den and garage as my house is split level). Very very nervous after I saw this pic :( http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...35825056_n.jpg City of Brigantine. Adjacent city from AC http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...05969537_o.jpg Ventnor city http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...41596940_n.jpg Uptown Atlantic city. 3 people had to be rescued from this suv. Why people are still on the road? I have no idea. http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...77363796_n.jpg Brigantine 911 calls stopped 2 hours ago. No ambulance or other rescue service bcuz streets are beyond drivable. no electricity either. This is really bad. High tide will happen right when the hurricane hits my city full throttle. If it brings out water from the ocean, i wouldn't be surprised in the city goes under 10-12 feet of water. :( |
oh ****. AK :(
