Windows 8 upgrade

Anyone upgrade yet? Worth it or not? Learning curve from 7 too steep?

Have considered an upgrade for a while and now that it's out I would like to hear opinions from first hand users before taking the plunge.
Seems to be a lot of pro and con opinions out there so please chime in.

I had beta and now the official windows 8... its totally worth it, youre wasting your time using windows 7 because its too slow compared to windows 8.

FYI, my boot up is less than 10 second and shut down is less than 2 second.. windows 7 takes ages to boot up..

I'm setting up a laptop right now. So far so good. Seems fast, but no real objective data to share. I do like the interface and the app interface. All my wireless networked printers were immediately ready, which is something I thought was pretty cool.

I did try an upgrade download this morning but it kept failing to initialize the purchase. I think their servers must be overloaded.

I've got mixed feeling about it. There are still a few minor bugs here and there. I don't think Live is working it yet so you can't play any games that require it.

As for it being fast, it may boot quickly but how often do you really reboot? Not exactly worth upgrading to boot faster. As for as general desktop application speeds, there's virtually no difference between it and 7.

There is a learning curve but it's one worth taking. I actually think it's a superior interface. It's just very, very different from previous versions of Windows.

I have the fastest SSD on the market and Windows 7 doesn't boot in 7 seconds. I'd like to see a video of that. :)

Windows 7 boot time is closer to 25 or 30 seconds on a good SSD.
