WSJ - "Walmart Inc. has removed all guns and ammunition from the sales floors of its U.S. stores this week, aiming to head off any potential theft of firearms if stores are broken into amid social unrest.

The retail giant, which sells firearms in about half of its 4,700 U.S. stores, said customers can still purchase guns and ammunition upon request even though they are no longer on display."

Considering all the current and potential looting and unrest I think that Walmart is making a good move. I’d hate to see guns and ammo fall into the hands of people who have proven that can’t be trusted. TBH if I sold guns in a area that might be susceptible to looting I might do the same. Keep the store open but the product off site just in case. It is sad that things have come to that.

I was in Walmart this afternoon, and noticed that all the guns and ammo was gone. Never gave it a second thought.

I don't give a **** what the waltons do. I didn't rely on them to begin with and never got anything but ammo from them when I wanted it when traveling. They are Alibaba in a box in your neighborhood.

Well, WallyWorld brought the guns and ammo back to the sales floor... not that it does me any good. I might pick up the 3 or 4 boxes of 30-06 they've got...

Bought a Stoner M4 stock and Stoner AR wrench and converted my AR pistol over to a carbine length with the extra 300BLK upper I had. Now I've got to find a place to 'store' the pistol upper & brace. There's a lake close....

Doing the stock swap was a learning experience, fortunately, I didn't lose either the buffer tube retainer & spring or the back detent spring. I'm not sure I'm quite at the comfort level to attempt to build my own 80% lower.

Hornady came out with a new round for the AR-15. It's called 6mm ARC. Anyone have opinions on it? It looks promising. .243 performance from a round that fits the 15, not the 10.

I was wondering how one could get a 6mm peg to fit in a 5.56mm hole. It fits the AR-15 platform, not a standard AR-15. Per Wikipedia: "a new barrel, magazine and bolt are required to convert to the 6mm ARC." Seems like a stiffer recoil spring might be needed but maybe not. Appears to be an easy conversion if one has the right tools.

Interesting concept, especially for hunters, but I like the AR-15 because of the light recoil. A .243 ain't bad but a tad more than what I prefer for the plinking that I do.

Some DoD special unit has adopted it for use. From what I read. It fills the gap between.556 and 7.52. I look for the .556 to be replaced in the near future. Barrel, bolt and recoil spring is needed. Will fit standard mags.

Too early to tell if it will be successful. IMO it will be hyped for awhile, it will called the best thing since sliced bread and in a year or two it will be relegated to the boutique round market. Too many new rounds trying to do the same thing. The only "AR-15" round that broke out into the mainstream, that was specifically designed for the AR-15, that IMO has become a standard offering from AR-15 manufacturers is the 300BLK. Hell there is a factory 300BLK Tavor.

With companies like POF cramming the .308/6.5 Creedmore into an AR-15 sized platform which is as light as an standard 5.56 AR-15 and with recoil that isn't bad, talk of a new "long distance" AR-15 round can get lost in the noise. Why spend thousands on a boutique round when you can buy a POF AR-15 (yes that is right, AR-15 not a AR-10) that can shoot 308 from standard 308 mags.

TBH, just my , most hunters if they want a bigger round will most likely go with the 300BLK in an AR-15. Especially if they hunt at ranges under 100 yards against deer sized targets.

Funny, I heard the same thing when the 6.8 SPC came out. I've got a 6.8 that is on the AR15 platform & I have an AR-10. I like my 6.8, it's comfortable to shoot, much more than my 1903A3 Springfield. But then again, it's a bolt action over a gas-operated system.

There's a company that makes something called a Warlock, that makes changing calibers easy. The upper stays the same, but they have a locking mechanism that allows you to change barrels (and BCG) to a different caliber.
