Has anyone "rebuilt" the spring in a magazine? Ie, adjust to proper length and heat-treat. Would it be more involved than that? Seems like that would be a valuable skill

Has anyone "rebuilt" the spring in a magazine? Ie, adjust to proper length and heat-treat. Would it be more involved than that? Seems like that would be a valuable skill to have if (when?) the SHTF. Just wondering.
