@rusty my shield doesn't bulge my cases. At least the ones I've picked up. I don't reload them. Also I think someone else mentioned they needed to replace the trigger

Also I think someone else mentioned they needed to replace the trigger on their new shield with the apex duty kit. IMHO it doesn't need it. But hey it can't hurt. Compared to the trigger on the full sized it's a damn good trigger. The full size is terrible. So much mushy slop. I will be doing an apex kit for that after I put another few hundred rounds through it.

I have the APEX trigger on it. The original trigger is absolute garbage. It's a widely known downfall. Great gun! even better with the trigger work!

Good choice
As part of my plans to buy another Z in about 6 months, I am slowing selling off part of my firearm collection. I decided I really didn't need the AR15 in 6.8 spc (never even got around to firing it), but I am keeping my AR10. Collecting ammo and mags for a 556, 6.8, and 308 after awhile didn't make sense. You have a really nice rifle.

I have the complete Apex kit on my MP40 Pro Series. It's worth it.

Be the worst shot in the world and still kill it.

Ok, here's the first (I think) Sightron SVSS 10-50x60 mounted on a rifle in Canada (?). Well, I might be wrong about that claim, but anyways... On top of a Near Alpha MD34 x 1.25 TaCap mount on a PGW Coyote rifle. Now, I won't get a chance to try it out until after June 1st because my range is closed for reno's and re-certification. But boy, I can't wait!! (Since the rifle is also new.)
btw, it's a .308

Any recommendations for places to buy miscellaneous AR-15/M-16 parts online?
I've found upper/lower receivers, internals for those and barrel/gasblock/tube locally but am having problems locating some of the "little" things like forestock delta ring/retainer (but was able to find the spring and front retainer, go figure), nut for flash suppressor (I prefer that to a crush washer), plain-jane forestock for 20" barrel, old-style fixed buttstock with storage, &c. TIA

Keep loading?
Yesterday I finished my testing with some reloads I wasn't supposed to do. I posted before about AA4064 and some people including Accurate said it wasn't tested but pressures should be there etc etc. AA4064 was the only thing on the shelf and with so many saying it's like IMR4064 which does have manual loading data, I'm stubborn and just wanted to do it! I tested before with Hornady 75gr BTHP with 22.5gr, 23.5gr, 24.0gr and 24.5gr but the sun was messing up my Pro Chrono for more then half the shots. Hell all the 22.5gr loads said 1400-1500ftps haha. So I went out again with just 24.0gr as I determened that was best based on cases fired, some velocities, and frankly I just couldnt do 24.5gr because they were so compressed in the brass the hollow point was deforming from the die making the OAL over 2.26" as it squeezed the tip longer an pinched the sides. With the 24.0gr I can only load LC brass with the 75gr's. All others and .223 brass has the powder filling the case all the way up into the neck. Even with LC brass the loads still compressed but hey, some like that. I shot 10 rounds before moving to sighting in, I was at 15 feet with a Pro Chrono Pal, at 52 degrees outside with my HM Defence triple hone 1:8 16" barrel, again shooting AA4064 with LC brass and Hornady 75gr BTHP. Pretty close! 1. 2469 2. 2455 3. 2455 4. 2469 5. 2460 6. 2460 7. 2450 8. 2473 9. 2492 10. 2487 I was hoping for 2500ftps but I guess close enough d/t powder and bullet weight. The gun was sighted in for some older loads of I think Hornady 68gr BTHP and H322 which is a crazy fast powder. First 2 shots not bad for no sighting in! The wife also had some nice shots with a nice group! Only thing I'm worried about is we shot about 90 rounds. The more we shot the more off we got. Anyone have a clue why that is? It did heat up closer to 60*, the wind was blowing at times, and I do have a $100 UTG scope. By the last 5 rounds I was down about 2" and had to click up on the scope. Something tells me the scopes not perfect for a ton of shots. Should I keep loading and not worry? Long as she can head shot with this rifle we built, she and I will be happy.

Let the barrel cool off and see if it's still shooting "wild." If so, I'd try giving the barrel a good cleaning. If that doesn't help, I'd look at the scope, bedding, &c.
