Has anyone attempted to go out and get any Ammo

I have and it is not pretty

Every WalMart shelf is empty basically, although I've gotten lucky and scooped a couple 100 rds of 40s&w and 100rds of 380acp and less than 200 rds of 223

The 9mm ammo has been thus far the thorn in my side, primarily because it is my target model and the one I use to teach with at the range.

I paid $55 for 100rds of FMJ where I typically pay $30

I been fortunate to find inexpensive ammo. The only thing that truly hit me over the head was 6.8 110 gr otm ammo, $180 for 200 rounds. I previously had bought 1000 rounds of OTM 7.62x39 for $243. AKM's are definitely more cost effective than AR's. Pistol ammo hasnt been affected here as much in Tx. Pistol sales have increased but not to the point of lunacy as with military style rifles.

I went looking for 22lr after I picked up my new rifle. I checked 3 different walmarts, all they had left were maximags. No thanks. I went to Gander mountain and scored some minimags and winchester super-x.

Does anybody have any experience with the FN F2000? I've held one before but never had the chance to fire it. I'm thinking I may buy one when I get back home to WA next year. Being prior military, I'm sorta burnt out on AR-15/M4 rifles and just looking for something different.

I WISH I had more experience...
I shot it ONCE...
I loved it, recoil was REALLY low, and even though it looks like it came out of Halo, I enjoyed holding it, felt really good

Also the cartridges eject out the front in an organized fashion. So it's nice if you reload! (Trippy part is that you can shoot 5(?) rounds before it opens the hatch thing to let them drop out)

If you buy one and I'm in whatever area you may be, can I come over and shoot it? Lol

Awesome. I've seen some Youtube videos and it looks like the expended brass just sorta... poops out.. lol. Almost everybody I work with owns an AR-15 and they are always asking me why not just get something battle proven. (Everybody in my department is prior/retired military, so I get a lot of bias opinions). What can I say, I like the "cool guy" guns. Fs2000, FN P90, Kriss super V, H&K MP7... and then of course the guns that I'm used to that aren't exactly legal .

Better hurry if these new ban go into effect.. WA gun prices are severely skyrocketing in the anticipation of the new ban being proposed by a certain CA senator...

Yeah, I'm a little nervous about that. I'm in Texas at the moment and won't be back home till March/April time frame of next year. I hope I'm not to late .

I'm going to be pissed if they banned my order because I don't "possess" it.

All depends how fast this new ban bill gets shoved down our throats, hopefully things move as slow in dc with this as they do for everything else

Assuming that it gets passed at all. Over the last 8-10 years (well, since the sunset of the previous AWB), AR15's and their counterparts have become by far the most popular category of sporting rifle ever made. Couple that with the Congressional political consequences of the 1994 AWB (Republican landslide), the vastly greater number of AR15's out there, and the American public's traditionally short attention span relative to the recent tragedy in Newtown...I'm not sure we'll see an AWB of any kind. Maybe a magazine ban.

The problem that they're having is that it's harder to sustain an emotional argument. Eventually, the facts of the situation just keep popping up. It would be an easier sell if anyone could in any way demonstrate that there was a positive effect of the 1994 AWB, but there's nothing.
