Sortof like someone saying "Not be be a ****, but..." and then they go right ahead and are a ****. Anyway, nothing wrong with liking what you like. You like the DE, fine, I think they are pretty cool myself, I just can't CCW one very well. |

There are lot's of gun people out here, it's just that we are out-numbered by the 'tards in the coastal areas. If you haven't already, you should check out Calguns. I'm in the I.E. and I prefer avoiding ranges at all costs so I usually drive out to the high desert passed Victorville to find an empty piece of desert. Which reminds me that I still have to zero the glass on my REPR.

If you are printing, you're not ccw'ing effectively. That is what I meant. You can't ccw it for beans. In la, that gets you detained a minute. Not sure about tx.

-printing not allowed -""Concealed" means that the weapon cannot be visible, and that its presence cannot be discernible through ordinary observation. It is a criminal offense for a license holder to carry a handgun in plain view, or to intentionally fail to conceal the weapon." -can't carry in a bar -can't carry in a hospital or nursing home -can't carry in a church -"No Gun" signs have the force of law An interesting set of laws in a generally conservative state like Texas. I contrast that with generally liberal Minnesota where I live where there's no distinction between open and concealed carry, the only restriction on carry is k-12 schools, and "No Gun" signs are meaningless. |

~Not carrying in a bar... The establishment must meet the 51% rule for me not to carry inside. IE: I can sit at an Applebee's or hotel bar with my weapon. ~Not carrying in a Hosital/church... Not 100% on this rule as I need to re-read the statute. ~"No Gun" signs... You are 100% Incorrect. If a business wishes to not allow Conceal Handguns they must display a proper; size, coloring, and bi-lingual 30.06 sign. Signs that say "No guns allowed" or a circle with a gun in the center and line through it are pointless. Feel free to educate yourself on Texas laws; http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/Interne...rms/CHL-16.pdf

Lol, guys, I got all the laws in TX, while carrying a Desert Eagle wasn't 100% Kosher to carry, it was for shitz and giggles, that night a police officer was outside and he pulled me aside and asked what I was carrying, and when I told him he was like, you know they serve fried chicken here... Not bear, LOL!!!
When it gets cold (yes it does get cold in Texas, lol) I tend to carry it more because I can wear a thicker coat And CA is no carry at all, it USED to be open carry... (with the magazine out... [useless in my opinion]) Actually you CAN carry a long gun (unloaded) if you like being harassed by police, LOL Last edited by DEpointfive0; 07-01-2012 at 11:10 AM. |

If it's concealed properly... How does anyone know you're carrying?

Whether a given law, like "no printing", is enforced or not...the law is on the books. It could be enforced, depending on the mood of a given police officer or the leanings of a given county attorney. More convenient to just not have the law on the books. I'm not a believer in open carry, but it's reassuring to know that I could never be arrested here for accidentally printing. Bars...? I have a new appreciation for this state's laws so that I can carry in a bar without having to calculate the percentage of their business that is based on alcohol sales. Churches and/or hospitals? I don't worry about churches and I work in a hospital, but they're just more places a resident of Minnesota can carry without having to worry about being arrested, or worry about leaving their gun locked up in their car in the parking lot. "No Gun" signs? I have a new appreciation for this state's laws which let me just ignore such signs. The law here dictates that such postings are basically just there to let people know that if they happen to be discovered carrying a gun in that store, they may be asked to leave. OTOH, the ******* DNR won't let anyone here own a suppressor and the state keeps voting Democrat. No perfect place to live, I guess. Last edited by MacCool; 07-01-2012 at 12:17 PM. |

Well the law states in every state what the speed limit is but I bet you never go above that cause you might get pulled over.
Bars that do make a 51% or more profit off the sale of liquor are required by the State to post the 51% sign so CHL carriers know. The State of Texas is looking into removing the "no carry" in to Churches. And the "No Gun" sign are pointless here as I mentioned above. And NO business can ask you to leave for carrying a conceal handgun in the State of Texas. Also... I never have to shovel heat out of my driveway. Texas FTW!!!

And I saw in your other thread that you might be taking the 40. When you get to the 15 south you can check out my shooting spot that I told you about and release some of that long distance road trip stress with a few mags. It might make the last two hours into L.A. a little easier . |

That ain't the way I read PC 30.06. Those "No Gun" signs in Texas constitute legal notification for the purpose of trespass (unlike Minnesota). According to the Texas Penal Code (PC 30.06), they can not only ask you to leave, they can have you arrested for trespass. Such trespass is only a class A misdemeanor, but it's worth noting that a class A misdemeanor on your record makes you ineligible for a concealed handgun permit in Texas. If you carry a gun in a "No guns" posted establishment in Texas, you run the risk of subsequently being ineligible to carry one. Like I said...seems pretty restrictive to me, at least by comparison to what I'm familiar with. You can find a good review of Texas concealed handgun laws at http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/Interne...rms/CHL-16.pdf Quote:
