There was a used .40SW LEM P2000SK for $629 and a new .40SW DA/SA P2000SK for $829. Didn't like the LEM version at all and then I saw the HK45C! OMG, what a beautiful piece of ballistic art...I almost bought it right there even though it was $1039. Resisting the urge to make an impulse purchase I decided to wait till tomorrow and sleep on it as it is about the same size as a Glock compact.

When walking out I noticed that in the 9mm case there was a used DA/SA P2000SK which looked like it was in really good condition for only $600. I have wanted to own a 9mm for a really long time so it was almost a no brainer. So here she is with another picture of my little H&K family.

I am pretty psyched by the purchase and I really like how it sits in my hand after comparing it to a Glock. H&Ks seem to be a bit more "upright" like a 1911. A Glock almost sits like a revolver to me, which I would get used to...not a criticism. It looks like I will be getting an HK45 sometime in the near future.

Thanks for all the input and enjoy the pics!
I love HK's. Very smooth shooting with their recoil system!

I would also like to point out a couple other things that may be in play with the declining crime rates:
I don't think so. I think the real reasons won't be revealed for another decade or two, at the very least. History isn't the same as journalism, and until we are politically disconnected from the era, it'll all be seen through a red/blue perspective.

Also, as the resident hyper-liberal, I have to bite my tongue to comply with the forum rules.

A word of warning. I had the HK 45C -- it shot real nice, but it had a real peculiar quirk. Every now and then, it'd fail to c0ck. Like I'd be two or three shots into the magazine, pull the trigger, round is fired, slide goes back and ejects the shell, loads the next round into the chamber, but the hammer returns forward with the slide instead of staying cocked! And it wasn't just my gun either. I friend of mine also had a 45C and it did the same thing! I got rid of that gun because it just wasn't acceptable to me. A shame too, because other than that one peculiarity, they shoot so nicely!

Well now I have to rethink that! Thanks for the info...I will be sure to see if they have addressed that before I make a purchase. Those FN pistols are looking pretty tasty!

That really surpises me that H&K didn't catch that...it would be like Nissan making a car that doesn't start...twice...

FWIW I've had other HKs and they all performed flawlessly. One of my favorites was a .40 cal P2000 SK (LEM). Great little gun.

Just picked this rifle up. Kind of a whim purchase...the more I read about .17HMR, the more intrigued I became. Got a Muskrat problem in the non-winter months and have to be careful of ricochets off the water. And my buddy has a pack of coyotes and probably at least one wolf harassing his horses. Can't shoot the wolves, of course but once I get this new .17HMR Henry scoped, we're going to get out the squealing fawn call and the electronic rabbit and solve the problem.

This thing has one of the best out-of-the-box triggers I've ever seen on a factory rifle. It's a nice piece of work.

.45 How to choose? Depends on your intended use. If you intend to use it for carry, I'd recommend Kimber as most of their models have frames machined from aluminum, which means less weight. I've been through a lot of Kimbers. The one I have pictured was my all-time favorite. It's the Ultra Covert II.

That's a fine looking rifle, sir.

That sure is a shiny rifle for sure. I almost have to put sunglasses on when looking at the picture. Very nice.

I was reading up on that ammo as well...cool concept. If it weren't for the price of the ammo I would probably have picked up a FN FiveSeven by now. I am sure the .17 hornaday ammo is a LOT more reasonable.

Speaking of FN, have you shot the FNP-45? This used to be my designated nightstand gun. 15 rounds of .45 at the ready.
