Hey, Mac. I appreciate your input but you don't have to bust my balls on every post. I didn't realize I had to be extremely specific on what type of guns I can buy. Perhaps I should just delete all my posts here so I can make it my own business and no one else's.

Thanks again for the advice I didn't need or the info I already knew.

You could just delete the inaccurate or misleading ones.

You're right though, I could have just corrected my original post when I figured out you were from Minnesota instead of creating a new post. Sorry about that.

The framers of the Constitution were very thoughtful in including it in the Bill of Rights on that basis. They also knew that if it was indeed the right of the people to throw off a tyrannical government, those people would need the tools to do so. In England today, you can't even buy a steak knife.

Interesting the way these cultures evolve.
We lifted much of our bill of rights from the English Bill or rights and their concept of the right to arms is very different than the current American view, especially with respect to the regulation of that right.

Thanks to OWA 1996/VCRA 2006, assaults with cutlery are at an all-time low.

What happens when someone over there assaults someone else with a rock? Are rocks going to be regulated? It's hard to believe that there was a time they were pretty damn close to ruling most of the world.

And there's a huge reason why Britain, and a good chunk of the rest of European countries are having issues. It damn sure isn't because of weapons.

It sounds trite by now but it's very true: guns (and weapons in general) don't kill people, people kill people.

Humans are smart enough to turn just about any object into a lethal weapon. Sticks and rocks worked great for hundreds of thousands of years ... until some of the other humans got bigger sticks and rocks. The jaw of a donkey has been used as a weapon of mass destruction.

Even if you manage to get rid of everything that could be used as a weapon, we still have our hands, feet, teeth, &c.

Banning weapons and expecting violence to decrease is like banning sex ed and expecting the teen birthrate to decline. Or expecting Communism/Socialism to work in the real world. YMMV

AK has already Warned people to STOP with the political references or posts.

Im going to ask that WE get on topic or I'll just CLOSE this and that'll be the end of that.

You guys are pretty much Adults here so Im asking too PLEASE respect your fellow members

That would like this thread to remain open to share gun experiences as well as tips.

This issue is NOT a point of discussion as AK already Warned folks.

Thank You.

I did get to shoot a 45. and a 38. for the first time while out in NM

Danm 45. had a kick

Tracer + dry grass = football fields of fresh nitrogen being introduced into the soil.

The dots of color you see are people

Got a cheap gun case for the AR today. I only bought it to carry the AR to/from the house and the range. I also liked the fact that it's made in Murica! lol

Default Thinking about buying a gun.

So I've been thinking about picking up a gun to play around with at the range. Don't really care for it being used for home defense or concealed.

At first I was looking at 9mm handguns but was told that .22 rifles like the HK 22LR MP5 would be better for the range. I've shot a .22 rifle before and it was kind of boring...I think I want something with more kick.

Any recommendations? My price range is no more than $500 but I'd like to keep it around $300ish if possible.
