You sold the rock island? The great thing about 1911's is there is so much you can do to them so it can be a one of a kind gun. I'll take on a project like that once the climate cools down. (if you know what i mean?) |

Anyone here have thoughts on Windham(old bushy) vs new bushy vs SW Mp15's ? These are the brands the lgs are getting in. Shot a bushy today, its a new bushy, seems fine, but Im a Ar-15 noob.

I'd love to do a 1911 project but I just can't justify it until I round out a couple more empty spots in my collection. |

I'm going to show you a rifle. I'm not promoting or demoting the brand itself. I encourage you make your own brand choice. As opinions are like Azzholes... But I want you to look at the list of features on this rifle, more than brand itself. Those are the features you should be looking for in your first M4 rifle. Complete CORE15 Rifles :: CORE15 |

Stag with a plus package would be my first choice in the $900-$1200 price range but they have a 2 year backorder. Going about $300-$500 more than a Stag, there's Daniel Defense would be my first choice if I were spending in the $1500 range. This would be my rule if shopping Direct Impingement rifles. Just want to stress thats my opinion and is based on my own research. I still encourage you to research and make the best decision that suits your needs. There are plenty of rifles that are awesome quality beyond my recommendations. I just gave my opinion as a GENERAL GUIDELINE Last edited by UNKNOWN_370; 03-11-2013 at 01:19 PM. |

The features on a particular rifle are not what you pay for. You're paying for the quality and reliability of the firearm and the quality control which goes into the total package, which is at least in part determined by the quality and reliability of the parts that go into it. Taking a bargain basement rifle and slapping a bunch of bargain basement doo-dads on it does not make a quality rifle. You can get a Colt 6920 for not very much more money (in a normal market). If you're looking for durability and reliability, that would be the way to go. Last edited by MacCool; 03-11-2013 at 02:02 PM. |

Colts are hard to find now, but a great option if you can find at reasonable prices. DD is accepting orders now at msrp as well. |

Correct, my 300 BLK SBR build is scheduled for the first week in April. I have researched DD, and asked guys like Wes of MSTN, etc. about them, and DD actually DOES do 99% of their stuff (random figure, but you get the idea) in-house, and they do a damn good job. I would honestly take DD over any other "mass produced" M4 out there right now. Of course, Noveske, MSTN, etc. will give you more customization and spend more time on the rifle as a while, but for a line-item, I think DD is the choice I am most happy with.
