I didn't read it, but any 5.56 is going to penetrate soft armor. JHP, JSP, FMJ, doesn't matter. It's going through. No 5.56 (except maybe M995) is going to do squat to SAPI plates other than shatter them. Same for proper trauma plates, which are rated to withstand .30 caliber AP.

So basically...any rifle round of note will go through soft armor. No rifle round of common origin will go through plates. In a nut shell, with plenty of exceptions to be discovered if you are asinine.

With handguns, JHP, FMJ, doesn't matter either, if the armor is rated to stop it, it's not coming through, and most soft armor stops most handgun rounds.

Part of why I am starting project SBR:

-Factory registered Noveske Gen II lower
-Geissele SSA
-Aimpoint T1 2MOA sitting on LT751
-LMT SOPMOD
-Surefire M600A
-LaRue FUG
-Troy BUIS
-Noveske upper using their CHF barrel, Vltor MUR/VIS, Switchblock, in 10.5" length
-Surefire 212 flash-hider with a 556-212 suppressor (Yes, I know I will get baffle erosion more with the FH, but it's still not going to matter for about 10K rounds, and I have another suppressor that sits on the shelf chillin' out until something happens to my primary. They are clones for the purpose of replacement, paperwork still pending on can #2).

I have everything but the upper and the lower is still in "jail", but built and ready. It has a 12.5" upper on it currently that I will probably use mostly unsuppressed.

Finished product should look similar to this:

Of course, slightly different as the stock, suppressor (M42000) and T1 mount differ from my setup, but you get the idea. Over-all length of the barrel with suppressor in place will be about 15", and I should be getting 2575-2675fps out of M855/MK318 from it. MK318 will upset down to around 2,000fps or so, so should be solid performer out to nearly 200 yards, especially with some of the TSX stuff from Barnes.

Dunno how you're running it, but they make a 1913 attachment for the GoPro now.

That GoPro is mounted on the StrikeMark cantilever rail mount. It's not a very good mount...mounts awkwardly and is thin enough that it makes a resonant "twang" with ever shot. I also have the GoPro-specific Strikemark mount and it's not any better. There's a guy on another forum that makes these and appears to be much beefier and better designed.

I am thinking about building an AR pistol, which, at some point in the future might do the paperwork to SBR. I think I'm just gonna start by buying a stripped lower.

Priority now is getting my reloading equipment.

Just Form 1 a lower and forget about it. By the time you want it, maybe it will be approved.

Heh, I was thinking about the same thing, but then I decided that I would rather have a FN Five_seveN instead. It is kind of the same concept, but more compact and "practical". In fact you have started to make me think about getting a FN Five_seveN

i want one too but next one on my list is an AR so i can shoot 3gun competitions

Well I have to set up my trust and everything for that. And I lack motivation to do that right now.
