Some of you guys know we had a Z cruise yesterday, 10 Z in total...

Was a nice cruise especially Mr.Fire was here too with his Z(L1)

Everyone is talking about having a track day.. which I am also excited about...

I need BBK, cos my Z does not have the Sports-Pkg, and I am fine with buying it cos BBK is my next mod anyway.. but instead of Wilwood BBK, I might need Stoptech or AP because of tracking... that's extra $1.2k to $1.5k compares to Wilwood BBK....

And oil-cooler, I need oil-cooler if I go to the track...

I didn't plan to track the Z when I bought it... but I will need an oil-cooler if I do, and to spend extra $600 to $1k on an oil-cooler for an event that only happens once or twice a year...

With the BBK, that's extra $2k+ I will have to spend if I decide to track the Z...

To be.. or not to be... this is the question....

You need to find out if you can track the car without a roll cage/roll bar first, then start spending money! Also, what about doing the Sport brakes upgrade? Would be cheaper, no?

For track day, usual requirement is helmet and closed top in case of roadster.

I believe the OEM sports brake is 2-piston front and 1-piston rear, cheaper but I will go for 6 and 4 instead, price is higher but what the heck...

My sport brakes are 4 piston from and 2 rear. The base are 2 piston front... But the stop techs would be a better brake kit, just not sure of the difference in money. For a couple of track days the sport brake upgrade might be enough.

what are sport brakes?
EDIT:: Now embarassed... Dur. I should read things more carefully!

Story: when i went to buy my car i knew more about it than the saleman (i knew some things-still learning my husband would ask a question, i would wait a beat to see if salesguy knew then i answered, it got to the point he just looked at me when tony asked a question-sad but kind of humorous

Sport brakes are offered in the sport package upgrade. 14" front rotors with 4 piston calipers and the rears are 13.8" rotors with 2 piston calipers.

Here are a couple of pictures of my sport brakes. I was waxing the calipers with a high temp wax so the brake dust washes right off

They have a fancy coating as well,
