WTF was he thinking.

Cmike2780 08-06-2012 03:08 PM

You would think that with all that money, a ticket wouldn't be that big of a deal, especially since it clearly shows no registration or state inspection sticker on the windshield. Cop was kind of an idiot for sticking his foot under the wheel though... and he does get a bit excessive once the guy is out of the car, even if the driver was being a huge tool. Seriously, unless the cop was going to arrest him, there was no need to stop him from leaving in the first place. It doesn't take a whole lot of detective work to find a 458 Italia.

...Poor car got scratches :(

zero 08-06-2012 04:00 PM

What is wrong with this cop? He should have let the guy go. I hope the guy got a hold of this video and fight back with his lawyer.

Cmike2780 08-06-2012 04:06 PM

...hate to say it, but it kind of looks like the cop was looking for a reason to go off on this guy.

It turn's out the blonde chick is Stephanie Pratt, sister of Spencer Pratt. The douche-ist douche in the world. The driver is her boyfriend who seems equally douche-y as her brother.

If he had no registration then he was breaking the law and was issuing the guy a ticket. Dude wanted to be a douche and aggravated the cop, the cop put himself in the way of the car as any normal person would know not to travel further, he persisted and used the vehicle to assault the cop, guy deserved what he got 100% hope he gets nailed in court.

red6spd 08-06-2012 05:01 PM

Wow that was his gf? I thought it was a 14 year old boy.

that's what I'm sayn, but your can't jump in front of a car and call it assault. If stick my foot out in traffic, it's my fault if it gets run over. There has to be intent and it doesn't look like he intentionally wanted to run his foot over. Other sources are even saying the cop was faking the foot injury.

Redglare 08-07-2012 12:18 PM

all bias aside, If a cop was standing so close to my car I wouldn't even think about moving, anyone defending the driver needs to realize this and stop :nutswinger:

No one is defending the drivers action, but I'm not defending the cop's actions either.

b1adesofcha0s 08-07-2012 02:04 PM

I feel bad for the car more than anything else :(

Jasonle 08-07-2012 02:10 PM

What did you think the cop did wrong? The only thing I could think of, my brother who was a cop said they cannot put themselves in danger such as standing in front of the car who the driver is attempted to drive off. Or jump through the window and trying to stop the driver who is trying to drive off. Or in this case, put his food in front of the car. Other then that the action taken by the cop to the driver was by rule. That guy deserve any charges that will file against him.

ct63084 08-07-2012 08:45 PM

I'm usually the first one to call out cops when they are abusing their power but not this one. Definitely 100% justified. You could clearly see and hear that he told the driver multiple times to stop loud enough that you can hear him from the camera and even put his body in front so there is no confusion what he wants him to do. Then he still drove and ran over the cops foot, that now is assault. I'm sure if you were telling a guy to stop and he still drove and ran over your foot I'm sure you will flip your lid also.

This is comparable if a cop tells you stop and you push him. Best believe you about to get your *** handed to you, much less using a 2 ton weapon.

I'm absolutely not saying the officer did anything wrong, I just think he could have made better decisions by just letting the guy go instead of hurting his foot and hand in the process....not to mention the insane amount of paper work afterward. It could have been worst. It's exactly what you said. What if this guy went nuts and really wanted to run the him over. You''ll never see a cop do that if the suspect was dressed like a bum and driving some old beater of a car.

Sibze 08-08-2012 11:30 AM

As much as I do or do not agree with it. I bet the city gets sued for the scratches on the car. They will probably say that there was no need for the extra force by the police officer.

Again, not saying I agree, just what I think will end up happening.

in today's world it's not what's right it's what legally right...

FuszNissan 08-08-2012 02:05 PM

That guy's an idiot, can't believe he tried to just drive off.

370zbb 08-12-2012 05:17 PM

Why would anyone try to drive off when a cop is obviously writing you a ticket? That's disrespect and just asking for trouble. In this case.... jail time. Cops don't take disrespect. He could afford the $50 ticket... now it's thousands in lawyer fees and jail time.

NYC cop whose foot was run over by Ferrari driver reportedly filing $10M lawsuit

Quote:

Remember the genius who tried to run over an NYPD officer that was writing ticket for said genius' illegally parked Ferrari? Said genius is being sued by said cop for $10 million.

The 458 Spider owner has a name; Julien Chabbot. According to the New York Post, the 28-year-old Internet entrepreneur is being sued by officer Felix Recio, who claims Chabbot intentionally tried to run him over when he was attempting to write a ticket. Recio has reportedly retained lawyer Sal Strazzullo, who has motioned to increase the criminal charges from felony assault to first-degree assault with a deadly weapon. "Chabbott clearly had no regard for Officer Recio's life," said Strazzullo, "hitting him with his Ferrari could have caused serious injured or even death.

According to the report, the August 4 SoHo incident left the 34-year-old officer with "a swollen foot and bruising." Recio continued, "I believe he deliberately drove towards me with an intent to hurt me." Recio is suing for personal injury and says he has not been able to work since the incident.

Meanwhile, Chabbott's attorney, Ben Brafman, denies the upped charges, stating: "We are not aware of any civil lawsuit... I would be shocked if a$10 million lawsuit is in fact being contemplated given the fact that we have developed information to the effect that the officer in question appears to have suffered no injury whatsoever."

Totally agree! He was stupid to had put his own foot in front of the wheel to begin with. The police is not suppose to put himself in danger like that. How do you expect us to think you can protect us when you can't even protect yourself and making dumb decision. You got his licence number... let him drive off. You'll track him own... where is he gonna go? Jersey?
