I don't even like the fact that I have to wear a name tag at work that has my full name. I sure don't want to post it all over the Internet if it isn't absolutely needed. Who the hell would? I personally think only an irresponsible individual would be ok with this. People are crazy nowadays, and it is beyond easy to find out anything about anyone on the Internet if you want to do something malicious to them or their family. Why make it easier?

You seem to be arguing that just using your name, which for many is not unique in any way, is giving away the store. That is where we completely disagree then. There is no all or nothing here. Anyone can find me on facebook, but only my friends can see my plan for world domination.
