Airport pics

Was out in Crystal City yesterday and decided to stop at Reagan to take some pics of the planes coming in. Kind of a hazy day and these pics are unedited, but it was fun. Also some guys spent about 5 minutes checking out the Z as I was off about 150 meters away shooting.

Sometimes the planes take off headed in my direction, but that wasn't the case while I was there. Hopefully I will be able to get some front-on takeoff shots in the future.

Nice. Always good to see them landing. The taking off is the easy part.

Love the guys checking out the Z. Hilarious!

Pilot?

Only a passenger here but I loved taking off towards DC because of the steep climb and left bank.

Love the pics. I'm a corporate pilot and it's been years since I've been into Reagan. Just got back from Fresno and Vegas. Great day except I get back and its raining and I have the 370 in the hanger and of course I just washed it yesterday. I hate how a clean black car makes it rain everytime.

Much respect for you pilots!

I really like Reagan. Watching the planes land looked like it was one of the more challenging approaches... not a typical straight shot.

Anyone ever flown into the tiny Airport in Salem, Oregon? If so you've probably come close to clipping my house. I have planes go over all the time and i always feel like ducking just in case because of how low they are in their descent.

Cool! Any ATC feedback? I'm terminal only, tower and approach/departure control.

You guys have always been great on the occassional jump seat ride and we appreciate your services. The Atlanta terminal people are awesome for the amount of traffic they have to deal with. I think we are up to over 100 arrivals per hour in good weather now.

Yeah that airspace is one of busiest places in the world. A guy I went to college with works at ATL tower.
