this is messed up. if they won't you car that ain't much you can do about it.
the part about getting blank fobs worries me. would that mean you can go to
your dealer and request a blank fob saying you lost yours or something. and use it to rip off another z.......................

Yeah pretty much. If you can send the correct codes to the car then you can put it in programming mode and program a blank FOB. FOB's are openly available from the dealer or online, there aren't any purchasing restrictions currently.

Currently only the Consult-III has the programming codes, but an inline serial data sniffer could be used to learn the codes and program a home made device to do the same. Only saving grace is that this requires a rather intelligent criminal, but if someone starts producing "programming devices" then your average car thief will have no problem.

1 $5.00 Bosh relay and a hidden pressure switch and the car will be there in the morning.
I used to wire these up all the time in the suburbs of Detroit back in the 80s. I would use the window switch, cigarette lighter, pressure switch to be active to complete the circuit to the starter.
