A HUGE increase in necro-bumping by newbie members? Numerous times I've caught myself commenting on a thread that was up to two years old after someone with 11 posts revived it.

If someone posts a question without searching, people bitch. If people search and add to an old thread, people bitch...

Necro is just as annoying as a 30th thread. New people will have questions. Patience is a virtue.

Apparently, there is no scenario where newbs don't get bitched at.

They could read the old threads and then only make a new one if their question wasn't answered.

If it hasn't been answered, nobody should be telling them to search.

I personally prefer a revival rather a new thread. Tiny bit less clutter.

If the newb starts off his new thread with, "I searched this topic and read many threads but did not find a concrete answer..." we will most likely give it a free pass and help.

I do, however, find it hilariously nostalgic when a newb necros one of my old threads.

I would say i would prefer necro to new thread.

I dont know, I'd have to go with the new thread, a thread in the past is just that, IN THE PAST.

if they necro a thread, it shows that they at least did some research into the subject instead of clicking new thread and asking a FAQ which has been discussed at length already.

:iagree: though this site has a lot more hating on the newb then other Z forums I was part of like 300zxclub, which is pretty bad because there so many news show up and know nothing about the TT's they have in there z32!

The problem with searching a lot of old threads is that there are 50 responses that are bullshite per one response that is the answer to the question...

but if the answer is important to you, 3-5 minutes of searching shouldn't be a big deal. honestly it takes just as much time to make a new thread, given all the database errors. Then god knows how long for a proper response from steve or dan. Neither of whom even own a 370z anymore, yet always seem to be the ones answering questions.

Zombie threads are often chock full of still relevant info.

Mods can just lock them up after being revived if nothing but "cool story, bro" gets posted...
