That's why I held off on getting them until I'm ready to hit a track.

Good stopping power, bad dusting. :icon17:

But they are so worth it at the track. Couple guys on stock pads had to quit early because their brakes were too spongy. My brakes were solid during every session. Ok, they vibrated a lot, but according to Mike (the PC), that's just how the akebonos are.

So, back on topic (lol)

Carbotech XP8 brake pads. Tremendous stopping capabilities on a Z. Also have the ability to turn bright silver rims into gunmetal rims in just 30 minutes of hard driving. I have washed my wheels four times in the last week and will have to wash them again when I put on my street pads.

Exactly right. I am likely going to buy new OEM pads at the end of the track season. This will give me 6 months without gun metal rims.

Vibrating sounds like warped rotors. Do they still vibrate off track? If so I've been down this road.

Good luck.

Nope, they did before I got to the track. Like, after driving 12 hours to get down there, they were vibrating all weekend a little bit.

First track session, major vibration

Figured it was improperly bedded pads, went to bed, second session was all smooth.

Little more vibration on the third session, but then mostly smooth the 12 hour ride back.

Now that the stock pads are back on and re-bedded, brakes have been very smooth.
