Not sure if the new resolution is going to be any sharper, they will probably say it is but it will just be to fix the new size phone.
NFC is near field chip, think of those credit cards where you just wave it and it pays, no swiping required. That is NFC technology, this will allow you to possibly put your CC in your phone, boarding pass, gift cards, etc.
LTE is both AT&T and Verizon
New cables yes, but this will be a good upgrade based on what we know so far. I am sure there will be adapters made for all the old cables you already have.

I actually have been very happy with my 4S camera, has done very well compared to other phone cameras and honestly it has replaced the need for a point & shoot camera.
I think for my birthday next year I am going to get a good DSLR.

:iagree: even my second Gen Pod camera is still really good, tho.. I wish it had more onboard features like my wifes Ipad3 lol

I do not want this. It makes it easier for people to steal that stuff. No thanks lol

LTE is, but doesn't Apple have a contract with ATT for exclusivity for the first year after release, or was that just for the 3?

Usually the main cameras on any phone nowadays are worthwhile, I just wish they'd upgrade the front facing cameras, they are way behind.

NFC tech is only dangerous because where you go buy stuff they are idiots and do not secure their end of the transaction. The actual tech is very secure, but when a place like Macy's does not understand how it works it can become dangerous.
The contacts with AT&T was just for the first few years, now it is open season on any carrier Apple wants (so basically anyone but T-mobile) on the day of launch.
The front facing cameras are limited because of the amount of space and lack of a real lenses and flash. I know a new phone from Motorola was announced with a 5-8MP front camera which is good but it is not all about MP.

How does one attempting to do this NFC stuff make sure that both ends are secured, or is there no way to know?

Ahh cool, then I'll keep an eye out for it with Verizon. Do they still plan on releasing an 8,16,32GB version, or just the 8GB for decent price and 16,32GB for ridiculous prices? I want to be able to just have one device for music/phone in my car, but I doubt that will be the case with the amount of storage I need. :ugh:

No real way to know about security on both ends.
Though honestly, a place that even swipes my CC should be able to handle NFC if they offer it, meaning the same level of security.
Size of the phones are still unknown. I know people are wanting a 128GB already with the last iPhone but got nothing. This is how it will probably break down:
-$100: 8GB iPhone 4S
-$200: 8GB iPhone 5
-$300: 16GB iPhone 5
And so on, I would rather see the $100 phone be a 16GB iPhone 4S but storage space prices are still holding a bit high. Slight drop this past year but not sure it is enough for them to add the 128GB level.

our phones have NFC, that's how the "beam" function works. most new phones will have this, especially higher end phones

Yeah, a 64GB would be fine for me, but 128 even better... lol 32 is just barely not enough anymore.

Meh, I has no one to 'beam' with anymore. :bowrofl:

But I'm still skeptical about it, not a fan of identity theft lol
