Finally got into SCUBA
I finally broke down and finished my PADI Open Water and now I am working on my advanced. Thankfully this hobby isn't too expensive and so far I have been on some really cool dives. Now I just need to start filming them. I went a head and bought everything minus a tank. I am in the carribbean for work right now so it was a perfect excuse. I have a Cressi S300 BCD, MC9 stage 1 and Ellipse Balanced (adjustable) stage 2. Did my first night dive too and that was a blast! When I go home there won't be any dives like this but there are some good dives not too far away and will make for fun weekend trips.

I live in ND, so I didn't see a point in buying anything more then Snorkel gear.. even tho I "deploy" to Guam every year... I can't be lugging all that extra gear around... here are just a few of the pics.. I took.. http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1337476362 |
I paid $295 for my open water and that was including rental. My advanced is free since I bought my gear from the dive shop. Nitrox will be next. Bringing everything back will be fun but there are a few others with me who brought everything down here with them. I have seen a few turtles while snorkeling but not on a dive.

170$ for my cert.. I have hit 152ft... I hold my squadrons deep dive record...
max dive time 59 minutes... and I only came up because my dive partner surfaced... When I go back, I am hoping to complete my wreck dive cert.. |
Haven't made it that deep yet! 100ft is the deepest so far.

130ft is the rec dive limit... oops |
The 100ft was my deep dive for my advanced cert. I still have my navigation dive left but I am almost done with this course.

I was going to say, " How long have you been dating her", and "Scuba" is a funny name, but that may be a little too much ...:icon14::eek:

The Wreck of the Rhone

Not a deep dive, but interesting. The wreck is slowly deteriorating. Lots of open holes in the hull, swimming in and out and around. That's the wreck where Nick Nolte and Jackie Bisset were filmed in "The Deep." Not all that deep. As I recall, just 40-50 feet. One can see the exact spot where Ms. Bisset pretended to be grabbed and tugged under the hull in one of the movie's most famous sequences. The professional divers were fond of referring to her as "Jackie BigChest" because of the wet t-shirt sequences.

Scuba! ^^ shes doing it right! |
The funny thing, there are a lot of hot dutch students out here and they all flock to the dive shop! That would be a cool wreck to see.
