2 points and a 250 dollar fine later, its done. Now I will take a defensive driving course to subtract 2 points.

passed a cop doing a high speed the other day, luckily he didn't pull out, I don't really speed unless Im having a lil fun, but I think its time to put off buying that radar detector.

See if you can adjust your speedometer to 35mph as min and tachometer to 2500rpm as min while your car is stationed.
So you are doing 65mph and the speedo is saying you are at 100mph.... Change to a loud exhaust to make it sounds like 100mph, or play a 100mph sound clip from your audio... That might help |

Yeah...I just got nailed here in GA which has the "super speeder" law added to the books which is an automatic $200 plus the amount each mile over the speed limit plus 6 points on the license and the possibility of suspension. I went ahead and got an attorney in my case, fist ticket I have had in over 10 years so lawyer says should be able to get something worked out.
As for radar detectors, yea..don't have one and don't think it would have helped in this case, and even with laser detection like the person said before you may as well just pull over and wait...however, (I'm in no way endorsing going fast here) but if you can't control yourself you may want to look into Veil, I have heard that with a laser/radar detector that Veil can save your butt. The reading of the laser is aimed at your headlights and Veil will fracture the beam so they can't get a reading, thus giving you time to slow down, since your detector still will get that a beam was directed at you... For me, what helps is driving a slower car w/ modest horsepower. It's far too easy to speed when i have lots of power on tap under the foot: even when i'm not trying to go fast.
I guess the character of the car will play a part, too. I find myself able to drive the speed limit in my 160 horsepower car. Self-discipline can help you control yourself behind the wheel. Not feeding into road rage, too. Then, reminding yourself how much time & money it will take when you get the ticket could turn u off. Good luck and stay safe man - - - |

Well I do not think I need a radar detector, as I am sticking by what i said and obeying the speed limit, even the people that speed past do not bother me much now.

Aww man that is exactly why I invested in my Escort 9500ci installed in my mirror... It was pricey but well worth it... It replaced by Bel Pro75rx( I think that was it)... Some people ask why I needed to spend that much on a radar, not necessarily do I speed..(often), but I like the comfort of alerting me to threats... I feel more comfortable just driving with a radar...

Back in March I got pulled over going 55 in a 35. I asked the cop how he knew I was speeding because my 9500ix did not detect him. His response was that he was "pacing" me The cop smelled alcohol, and I was given a DUI. This was on a highway...no idea why the speed limit was 35mph. This was the night before I was scheduled to have my Z Uprev tuned, so I was excited and went to a friends house and had a few drinks. Needless to say, that Uprev tune never happened.
