But the minimum is 1 GB. I would definitely look into an upgrade. It'll probably cost you $20 to get 4 GB even though XP will only recognize and use about 3 GB (unless you run 64-bit XP).

Really what you need to probably do is click the green Add Game button. That should allow you to enter your D3 key and download the game client.

everytime i try the install i get a message that says reccomended system memory 1 gig.
do they mean ram?

Yes they mean RAM. Is it just a message or an actual error? Are you saying it doesn't allow you to install and if so, what is the exact wording of the error? Screenshots would certainly help.

That seems a bit off to me as 1 GB = 1024 MB. I check dxdiag on two other XP machines and one gave 2046 (2 GB) and other reads an off number because its the max that XP recognizes (~3.75 GB)

JARblue 05-29-2012 04:55 PM

Pauly, go to START --> RUN then type devmgmt.msc to start Device Manager

Expand the Display Adapters to check your video card model.

So I just upgraded the client and the game is giving all sorts of errors on game creation and even just logging in, apparently.

JARblue 05-29-2012 05:02 PM

I just checked the price of your RAM, too. I guess I forgot it was still DDR, which is older now and fetches a higher price because of low demand - about $25/GB. But you could probably get away with buying a single stick to add to your existing 1 GB. Buying two matching sticks would probably give you better performance (but you won't notice anything).

if that 2051mb is your HD space available, you don't have enough to install the game. I think it requires 8 GB of HD space.

update
it installed, but tells me intel q33 express not supported for a video card

Pauly 05-29-2012 06:06 PM

im outta reps yall lol

well just so you know, the servers are down with Blizzard. You might get a Error 37 or something like that.

I think you have a PCI-e slot for a video card. (#5) This is where your video card would go. I'm not sure if you have this set up or if your video is integrated (built in the motherboard)

thanks twin. it looks like one "double row" of a long plastic thing with holes, doeant really look like somethin you could plug into, but then again, maybe you can. on the pic you posted, it looks like two seperate pieces, sticking out a bit more. this is like 3.5 inches long, half inch tall woth like a hundred holes in the front

twinturbonet 05-30-2012 07:39 AM

Yea that's it. Just to confirm, you should take a picture and post it up. IF it is a PCI-e slot, and all the minimum requirements match for D3 (I don't know what they are), then you should be able to purchase a video card and go from there.

At this rate though, I would spend $500.00/$600.00 or so to build another system. You already have the monitor and miscellaneous sh*t, so maybe you can just shop for the tower itself.

Seems like you need a newer computer anyway! :)

Pauly 05-30-2012 07:52 AM

yea it looks like ill need a new comp. this sucks. that thing is pci, but i dont know how to tell if its a pci-e. even if i did, i just have no idea what im doing. and even if i can get it to run the game, it probably will suck hard. f**k
