I started playing again after getting the new expansion last week. The new loot is amazing! I took my so so lev 60/lev 15 paragon Barb through act 5 and went from 60 to 65 just playing on hard difficulty. My damage went up 7x and my health about 10x just in that short time. I'm currently running a crusader through act 2

Nice! I didn't much like the original game. I got a barb and wiz up to max level and through most of the highest difficulty before I just moved on. The RLAH just didn't sit well with me, especially since you almost needed to use it to move on. And the original loot system was tailored for it.

Got the expansion about 2 weeks ago and I have to say that is the game D3 should have been from the start. Have a Crusader at 70 and soon a new WD at 70, plus playing the wiz a bit. Oh man, my gear on those was just awful on my old toons.

I'm not a min/max gamer anymore, so I've not even pumped up the difficulty past Master yet on anyone, nor done a ton of research on builds...I just go with what I like most. But it's a fun game for that.

I do wish the loot system was still a bit more like D2. I feel like the random rare names are not that great, I kinda wish I saw more drops for my allies, more set pieces, less craftable pieces, and less low level craftable stuff. But I do still do really like the pace, feel, killing, and the skill system that lets me still be fine with a multitude of different setups.

I still miss the original D2 Necro with a skellie army and Corpse Explosion chaining. The WD isn't quite the same...

:iagree: with a lot said there... but I've been really happy with the recent patch and expansion.

Hit me up with a friend request :tiphat:

It's closer. You just have to remap the colors. yellow is the new blue and Legandaries are the new yellows.

The thing I miss most about D2 is that D2 felt like an MMO. I'd log onto a game and there would be 2 groups of 2 or three grouped up in different acts and a couple of solos wherever. You'd hear a hollar -- "help with Duriel please" and you'd group up with them for a few minutes and give them a hand, then go back to killing demons .... good times. I think they missed the boat making it 4 player and requiring all players in a server to be grouped.

I played Diablo before LOD (Lord Of Destruct) came out. It was the good old day. Skeleton king and butcher were killer hard!! Then LOD changed the whole game for the better. Then patch and patch after patch. MOO cow level came out and it rocked!! Low kiling cows then they made it impossible. Missed my MF nova/ice orb sorc. 1000+ mf...

D3 when it first came out was cool. RMAH came out and made it suck except for the fast that I sold $200 worth. The game paid for itself. =)

I think they should of added trading rooms. Some things are impossible to find. The other thing is I miss "snatching" drops. That one element made the gave balance with the safe glass cannons in the back and not get drops with the in your face fighter that was up close for drops. I think a good remedy for this new version is to have 70% of the drops yours and the other 30% of the drops from kills so that everyone can see and snatch. It would be random 30/70 of the drops so if it happen to be a legendary to be int he 30%.. you better click like mad!! That and Torment 6 should be impossible to beat.. I mean super duper hard. No real point of playing it except for pure kicks. That way, there is basically no "end" to the game since you can't ever "win".

I just got the expansion over the weekend. played it for a while. I'm not an expert in D3 by any means, as I just play casually.

couple thoughts:

why is it so easy to get legendary items now? I know there's a lot more once I hit the higher Torment levels, but damn I thought it was rare to get them legendary and make you actually grind to get them.

Speaking of which, is resist all becoming more rare? As a barb, pre expansion, I used to love finding those, but now I rarely find any that are worth it and most of the item drops are just STR and VIT. I know that they said they made the drops to cater more to your character, but I didn't think it would be this extreme.

Anyway, that's all I can think of for now. Time to play!

:bump:

Season 2 started Friday. Already got a nice witch doctor going. Big thanks to Kadala for dropping 50% Taskers :yum:

There's a lot of different rolls for each legendary. Elite builds will require a lot of grinding to find good rolls on most/all items. Rare/magic items aren't really useful once you reach max lvl except for salvaging materials. With the higher drop rate, you can find a good base build quickly and go from there.

Before the seasons started, each patch could significant affect one or more elements of game play. I would not be surprised at all if that is the reason you feel that resist all is less common. They also knocked down the monster dmg a lot while increasing base player def. So resists don't have the same impact they once have nor are they as critical.

Plus.. ancient legends..

Blizzard wanted to move away from the legendary grind and move to the versatility of sets.

Top 200 Demon Hunter on Hardcore America, trying to get beyond GR 39. Loving the new patch updates.

Demon Hunter?!
Not impressed.. http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...es/naughty.gif

DH is so stupidly OP.

EZT 03-08-2015 11:07 AM

Demon hunter has always been my favorite. I got a crusader last season to top 10, did a gr 40 but died on a 42. Gonna make a new one soon and try again.

exsanity 03-08-2015 09:49 PM

I just started a seasonal wizard, but she has nearly zero gear at the moment.
