Vehicle Overview
1988 CHEVROLET CAMARO ZR1,LT5 GM CONCEPT VEHICLE,1 OF 1

DESERT AUTOSPORT IS VERY PLEASED TO BRING TO THE MARKETPLACE THIS 1988 CHEVROLET CAMARO LT5. THIS IS A 1 OF 1 CONCEPT CAR THAT HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM THE GENERAL MOTORS HERITAGE COLLECTION AND IS A TRUE PIECE OF CAMARO HISTORY. IT WAS COMMISSIONED TO BE BUILT FOR THE 1991 SEMA SHOW BY THE LEGENDARY JOHN MOSS WHO HEADED UP THE CHEVROLET SPECIAL VEHICLES DIVISION AND CREATED SOME OF THE COOLEST CARS OF THE LATE 1980'S AND 1990'S. IT WAS RECENTLY SHOWN AROUND THE COUNTRY AS PART OF THE CAMARO LEGENDS TOUR AND IS A TRUE PIECE OF CAMARO HISTORY. IF YOU GOOGLE THIS CAR, YOU WILL SEE HUNDREDS OF ARTICLES AND BLOGS ON THIS CAR. NOT ONLY IS A 1 OF 1 A RARE CAR, BUT THIS IS THE ONLY FACTORY COMMISSIONED CAR THAT IS NOT A CORVETTE TO RECEIVE THE LT5/ZR1 MOTOR. THE CAR ITSELF IS ACTUALLY A 1988 CAMARO THAT WAS A TEST CAR FROM A PREVIOUS PROJECT. IT WAS MODIFIED IN 1990 AND EXTENSIVE MODIFICATIONS WERE DONE TO ACCOMADATE TO 4 CAM/32 VALVE 375 HORSEPOWER MOTOR. THE MOTOR WAS A FRESH OFF THE ASSEMBLY LINE 1991 LT5 MOTOR AND IS TOTALLY STOCK INCLUDING THE MANIFOLDS AND AC COMPRESSOR EVEN THOUGH THE CAR ITSELF IS NOT AN AIR CONDITIONED CAR. IT ALSO HAS A STOCK 6 SPEED ZF TRANSMISSION AND EVEN THE CAGS SKIP-SHIFT WORKS. IT HAS A VERY TRICK INTAKE SYSTEM WITH TWIN AIR BOXES THAT IS COATED TO MATCH THE MOTOR AND IS TRULY A PIECE OF ART. THE BRAKES AND SUSPENSION ARE ALL 1LE RACE PARTS. IT HAS A CUSTOM MADE EXHAUST THAT SOUNDS ORGASMIC(IF YOU KNOW WHAT A MODIFIED ZR-1 VETT SOUNDS LIKE THEN YOU KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT). THE PAINT JOB IS PEARL WHITE WITH ATARI PURPLE AND NEON GREEN GRAPHICS. THE WHEELS ARE 17" AND ARE CUSOM PAINTED TO MATCH THE CAR. THE INTERIOR IS STOCK CAMARO EXCEPT THE SEATS HAVE BEEN COVERED IN NEON GREEN FABRIC. HERE IS A LINK TO ONE OF MANY ARTICLES WRITTEN ON THIS CAR 1988 LT5 Chevy Camaro - GM High-Tech Performance Magazine THE ACTUAL BODY HAS 7,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN LESS THEN 200 MILES SINCE IT WAS CONVERTED. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN AVAILABLE FOR SALE TO THE PUBLIC AND SHOULD HAVE NEVER LEFT THE CHEVROLET MUSEUM, BUT CASH STRAPPED GM LET OUT A FEW CARS TO RAISE SOME CASH AND WILL PROBABLY NEVER DO IT AGAIN. THIS MAY BE THE ONLY OPPROTUNITY TO HAVE A CHANCE TO PURCHASE THIS RARE AND VERY SPECIAL CAMARO!!! THIS IS A TRUE COLLECTOR'S PIECE AND IS HARD TO PUT A PRICE ON, BUT IF CARS FROM THIS ERA LIKE 1992 FIREHAWKS, 1993 COBRA R'S AND GRAND NATIONAL GNX'S ARE NEARING $100,000 THEN THIS SHOULD BE WORTH MUCH, MUCH MORE!!! IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE GIVE US A CALL AT 480-***-****. FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS CAMARO LT5, GO TO OUR WEBSITE AT desert autosport

"Who did this to my frickin' car?"

AARC51 06-04-2009 08:53 AM

Further proof of how bad the 80's sucked. Cocains a hell of a drug.

CBRich 06-04-2009 10:02 AM

+1 for Rick James reference. This motor was revolutionary though. But why in such an ugly vehicle? I want my hammer pants back.

nogoodname 06-04-2009 10:40 AM

Damn...... Bad time to post I placed an offer on it.

ChrisSlicks 06-04-2009 11:25 AM

I'm hoping that even in the 80's I would have thought that was ugly. Now I want to hurl chunks just from looking at it.

I think we should start a campaign to find 100,000 people to pitch in $1 to crush this ugly piece of sin.

Edit: I offered $1 but they didn't accept it. I will increase my bid as we get more people to pitch in.

Jason Burton 06-05-2009 12:31 AM

Umm, that interior is... well... neon...

Way to go General Motors...

Anatoray 06-05-2009 02:04 AM

Makes me want to dust off my old pair of badass red jeans!

Goddamn, that thing is ugly. Even in the 80s, I'm willing to bet that did not fly. Stupid neon color trend...
