I prefer impulse buying followed closely with buyer's remorse. :)

i just feel like apple, like all the other big companies, are just making tiny changes on new products so they can squeeze as much money as they can from us consumers. if they made huge changes, they would probably run out of ideas....especially without steve. reminds me of vehicles also.

I mean, who has time to google things anymore? It's not like you could do it from the device,in the store, or anything

Huck, a lot of those ideas are already around there are just apps for them. Home automation has been around for years and with the iPhone and now Android you can control your entire home from your cellphone. Downside is it still requires user input as RFID & NFC is just getting rolling in the US.

Oh yeah, I know it's available, but the general public doesn't know that. Most people aren't techies like us so they have no idea what their phone is capable of with a little tweaking. I was talking about when Apple makes it standard on the phone. It will be a much slicker GUI and probably a lot less bugs than what's out there right now.

Btw, I wrote all of this by talking to Siri on my jailbroken iPhone 4. :)

My intentions are not to argue with you or anyone, but how is this a tiny change? The new iPad's resolution puts the old one to shame and has 4x as many pixels. That's like going from 480p to 1080p. I'll also go out on a limb and say I highly doubt any other device boasts that kind of display or ppi. It also has twice as much RAM as the iPad 2 and a new CPU and GPU. Now if Apple had just put out a new iOS with its media apps and updated camera, then I would agree and say those are tiny changes.

Ordered!

The only upgrade on it I'm interested in is the LTE, but its not worth another 700 to upgrade from my 2 at this time.

I haven't gotten an iPad yet. My wife is starting to hint for one

T'Willy 03-09-2012 08:46 AM

While I would not defend Apple for strategically planning upgrades to maximize profits, from what I have read, they are using the latest tech that makes sense while fitting the required pre release production schedule.

I have an original IPad, but may not jump on this release as the upgrades still do not justify the expense.

I want one.

haggomyeggo 03-09-2012 09:16 AM

Ive only had my iPad2 for about 8 months. I only have wi-FI and I wish I had the 3G but o well

The only way I can see upgrading is if my dad really wants one and I'll give him mine and I'll get one with the 4g

On the display I haven't seen the new one but I do have a iphone4 and the display is awesome but if I bring the same photo taken with my phone up on both. I really don't see that big of difference. Still looks great on my ipad2....IMHO

And I am a apple whore for the most part....phone pad MacBook.
