What do you do about a "know it all"...

I'm sure we've all experienced people that you can never get a word in edge wise, and or they believe that their opinion is the only right one etc.

What do you do? Do you humor there Smart *** remarks of glorious knowing it all?

Ignore them?

Or Kill them...

Anyone have stories, or whatever.

I just get pissed cause this person I know sometimes talks to but trash talks you to the very core.... should I keep my head held high and walk away, knowing that my drive is going to make me sucessful?

I'm sure a lot of people will say this, but my coworker is one of the biggest know-it-alls you have ever seen. I used to try to fight it, but I realized that his reputation proceeds him, and there is no reason to call him out all the time. Everyone knows he's full of ****, so I just let it ride.

LOL I have a lot of those guys at work! One that stands out is a Tech Rep who loves to belittle you with his knowledge! It doesn't bother me that he's "smarter". He does after all has 20 or so years experience on the system. When he tries to use his all knowingness on me I just constantly tell him that he's so smart making it obvious! Before he leaves I even say out loud so he can hear me that I wish I could be just as smart as him one day! LOL! It gets on his nerves! I've been noticing he tries to avoid talking to me as much As he can LOL!

Don't waste your life ! You can't tell them anything, nor can you teach them! They are only fooling them selves! Ignore their crock of sh&t attitude. They are fools to them selves!

k20z3 05-30-2009 09:30 PM

Cause it makes me feel bad ****

lets drag them behind the z

or

(z1) ---(rope)--- body ---(rope)--- (z2) Hit WOT both ways!
(z1).... b o d y ....(z2)

m4a1mustang 05-30-2009 09:39 PM

Ignore them.

Drink at work (vodka preferably since its hard to smell). I find I'm willing to let a lot of **** go if I just have a couple drinks in me. :D

Don't ever lower yourself to another's dimished standard. If you know they are a "know it all", or whatever personality trait most people they encounter see as a flaw, that take that for what it is, a character flaw in their personality, and move on/rise above it. You can also bow out with class by saying something like "you know, your opinion is always the only opinion as far as you're concerned, and I don't have the time to dignify your ignorance or lack of study on the subject by engaging you in an argument, when your mind is already closed to opposing or alternate views" ............. then walk off with a smug grin on your face!
