You can go to a lot of college campuses and see that.
I will use UH for example since that is my school:
Black Edition GT-R
A couple Porsche 911 turbos
911 GT3 - guy brings it at least once a week lately
A couple lambo/ferrari's

I know it is not the same level as those cars, but there is money and parents will do whatever to make their children happy.

I wonder if the student with the GT2RS would let me borrow it. I'm almost certain I could probably kick his ***.

I have no problem with this... But people call me rich for having a 370. I'm not rich just blessed. :)

i honestly dont understand why parents buy their kids such expensive cars. then again, im no parent. how are kids going to learn how to earn their things? maybe im just old school.

Maybe the cars are what they got at the kick-off party for the Occupy protests? Damn 1% er's!

To me the kids are spoiled. That should be something they buy after they get out of med school.

It might not be the younger students.. Older people going back to school for ***** and giggles or professors. Sure there are a few kids with nice cars i.e. Audi r8, supercharged 2011 m3 but professors drive nice cars too. there are a ton of nice cars around campus that have faculty tags.

that isnt that shocking. rich areas will have that kind of stuff going on. my friend who recently graduated from upenn told me that they always partied on yachts. or they would rent out clubs.......

Spoiled based on ... If you bring in 5/10 million USD/year (which is usually the norm right around that area in DC) a $200,000 - $400,000 as a gift to yourself or kid isn't much. I'm sure that there are people looking at you wondering how you can spend $40,000 on a leisure car and/or spend $50/day on lunch and what not. It's all relative.
