Winter Depression
Hey guys... I have been feeling bummed out lately. I really miss taking my Z for a drive, washing it, staring at it, wrenching on it... you know...
So I'm looking for a bit of a pick-me-up. Post up a favourite picture of your current car, be it a Z, Mustang, Evo, Lada, whatever. To give you an idea of what is making me sad, besides the messy garage, I have to see my Z under wraps for its winter nap every day, http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7034/6...3aec590d_z.jpg DSC_0302 by J M Gale, on Flickr Here is one of my favourite shots of my Z. This was right after I picked it up, bone stock. http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6135/6...cf66cfe9_z.jpg gf370z by J M Gale, on Flickr |
I would post a picture but I said screw the winter and have been driving the Z most days now. Hopefully this good weather holds up.

You're right, the winter hasn't been that bad this year. I'm just bummed out because my Z has been under wraps since the end of October... |
it has been an unseasonably warm winter here with only a trace of snow. i had surgery and wasn't able to drive anything for a month so i know how you feel when it comes to the depression thing!!!!!
|
I have winter tires on the car so I still get to enjoy it (although its 65* today... wtf! WINTER?!?!?!)
Here's a shot that tooohip took at ZDayZ last year: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-4...0/DSC_9542.jpg Less than 4 months away from ZDayZ '12. :excited: |
Cool shot! The scenery is awesome!
Would love to see more of your Mustang. It's even "my" colour! |

Are those 19" Weds? they look :yum: I'm digging the rear spoiler too. I have a Carbon Signal Type-T CF rear spoiler coming. I'm getting quite the pile of parts in the garage. I want to pull the cover back and install some soon but, have to finish the honey-do list first... |

Come on, you must have a sweet pic of your Z to share when it was functional. Remember the good times man! |

is your garage warm enough to do work in the winter? i suppose you can keep busy working on your car? :D if you do any interior mods i suggest warming up the plastic bits with a heat gun or IR heater before you start pulling not to crack the panels. lol |

edub- i dig your nurbs. i might get a set down the road in gunmetal as my other set. for me i'd get the 19x9 ET32 and 19x10.5 ET27 and do a 15mm spacer on the rear for ET12.
|
haha kenchan u just listed my exact setup. only rockin a +15mm on the rear. front sit perfectly as is
sits it nice and flush without going overbored on the hellflushness... http://www.the370z.com/members/edub3...acers-rear.jpg |

I like the Weds. I'm having a hard time deciding what rims I want. 19" or 20"... too much choice. I know that I don't want it to affect the performance. and I don't want the super duper hellafush look. Rims that stick out past the fenders remind me of those Saturn's running 13" Daytons made for rear wheel drive cars... lol Yeah, my garage is fully insulated, just need a small heater, although the temps have been fairly good this year. I don't have any interior mods, other than my Password JDM shift knob. I have Whiteline sway bars and rear end links to install, and the rear spoiler when it gets here. I know what your saying about heating up interior panels. I used to do (years ago) warranty repair work for General Motors/AC Delco. It was a mobile outfit where we went to the dealers to do the work for them because their techs didn't have the knowledge (go figure). In the winter the first thing I did was start the car and crank the heater, get back in my van and start the paper work while I waited for things to warm up. Never broke a panel... knock on wood. lol. Of course warming up the car didn't matter when I had a front fender power antenna replacement to do in the parking lot in the middle of winter... Thanks again for the pic of your car... it's a beauty! |

 on your garage and experience with interior bits. ive actually cracked a panel (lower b-pillar panel on a civic sedan) long time ago when i was working on my stereo wiring cables under the sill to the trunk. i pulled per service manual but it was about 35-40F outside and snap. wtf... it was only $8 to replace the pretty big plastic bit though. :icon17: good luck on the whiteline swaybars. i might get a set too. still deciding whether to do the koni's or the sways. :) since no canyons in my area i might just do the koni's down the road. thanks. |
You're right about the offsets. I'm lowered on Swifts and think ET22 fronts and ET 12 rear is too much. I'm ok with the wheels sitting in the fender a little bit.

Really nice Z by the way, first time seeing a good pic of it. |

:bowrofl: Jk, its one one thing I can admire, and when I mean clean, I saw some of your pics, and its like showroom clean, that should count for some praise. Other than that your Z isnt a sleeper either. So respect for that as well. :tiphat: |
