Where do the worst drivers live?!

Where the Worst Drivers Live- Yahoo! Autos Article Page

50 NEW JERSEY
51 NEW YORK

Awww yeah that's right!
Actually... It kind of scares me knowing that there are worse people at driving in other states :ugh2:

Share your thoughts pleasee!

Anatoray 05-22-2009 01:05 AM

Wisconsin number 1 sounds about right. I lived there for 23 years, and barely ever saw an accident. When I moved to Kentucky... I think I saw more accidents in my first day than my entire life until then. The fact that 15 states rank lower down right scares me.

ssqpolo 05-22-2009 01:06 AM

u should drive here in florida with all the snow birds! damn ppl from New York and Michigan! they give Florida a bad name

blue660r01 05-22-2009 01:09 AM

Nahhhhh New York has the best IMO. We gotta drive crazy here because theres so many fuckin ppl. I have NO problems driving and I did great on the test.

agent37 05-22-2009 01:13 AM

i thought cali would be kinda bad, especially hearing about road rage vehicular manslaughters, but the test was just based off the knowledge of safe driving...
test not based on accidents...

Slidefox 05-22-2009 01:15 AM

Arizona should be closer to the 40-50 range!!!

CrownR426 05-22-2009 01:16 AM

I guess it's the alcohol...?
Blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-alcohol!

:iagree: :gtfo2: hahaha

wstar 05-22-2009 01:27 AM

Meh TX is smack in the middle at 24. Houston and Dallas should probably be down at the bottom with NY/NJ if they were counted separately. It's all the nice folks in the rest of the state keeping us afloat :)

like wstar said, texas - houston at least - is pretty damn notorious for accidents. just the other day on my way to work, intersection blocked off for life flight. later found out 2 kids died

CrownR426 05-22-2009 01:40 AM

Dude even soccer mom's here speed in their mini-vans!
You'll see any car speeding on the left lane.

I have no clue how Hawaii made it past Florida. I've never seen ANYONE make a U-turn from the right lane other than in FL; in Hawaii atleast everyone has some respect like... omg here I go...

In Hawaii,

1.people actually let you in when you merge.
2.when you let someone in the lane your in, they normally acknowledge and thank you (little wave).
3. They ACTUALLY use turn signals.
4. Not filled with old people that cant drive for sh*t.
5. Not as much Prada shade wearing, mom and dad purchased bmw/merc, weaving through traffic b*tches.
6.People actually know when to stop when there is a red light.

:hello:

eXo5 05-22-2009 10:18 PM

oh eff that! Delaware needs to be closer to the bottom!

Not really... I was in Cali two weeks ago. San Diego/La Jolla Area for 3 days, and I loved driving on the 5 and the 8. Arizona has the dumbest drivers on the road.

<--- Grew up in NY learning to drive in Queens!!

I am sorry to say you must not have been to Hawaii in the last 4 years.

1. Hawaii has some of the worst traffic ever because they don't know what merge is.
2. No one ever lets anyone in you have to cut people off just to get on and off the highway.
3. 3/5 times the person in front of you does not know what a turn signal is.
4. You are right there are no old people that don't know how to to drive, instead there are tourists from Japan that have no clue how to drive and cause more accidents than I have seen in all my 22 years living in NY.
5. Thats all you see are BMW/Benz driving around cutting people off.
6. If by stop you mean speed up so when they blow through they total their car instead of just getting a fender bender.

I can't wait to leave Hawaii.......

Cars are still made with turnsignals??? I thought those became obsolete around the same time as having respect for your common man and girls that looked 19 were actually 19.

Lyndo 05-23-2009 12:17 AM

they shoulda had a seperate group where they polled people over the age of 75 that still have their licenses and drive regularly, gauranteed that they would finish last by far.

u're right....we Montrealer drivers have the right a way, pedestrians have to wait....lol.

just last week the city installed traffic light photo radars...but only the major intersections....all the photo radars have been spotted, so we know where to slow down and where to go back to Montreal driving speeds.

I agree with you there. Not just there. The most LA and OC drivers are the worst. They got no driving skills. They don't read and follow the road signs. They have no driving etiquette and got a fake attitude.

miguez 06-05-2009 09:06 AM

This survey might shed some light in here :).

xiven 06-05-2009 09:15 AM

GA is high up and I definitely agree with that. Its a challenge every day just to avoid these ppl that don't know how to drive. Man, they really fooled the DMV into issuing them a license. I have heard ppl from NY and NJ come down here and even they admit its bad.

I think that says alot.

Rans 06-05-2009 10:41 AM

Here's my .02:

New York/New Jersey has both the best and the worst. The best are here because they've had to work so long and so hard to avoid the stupidity of the worst! Here in NJ where I work, I hear them complain about Eastern Pa. being worse than NJ, but the reality is that the vast majority of Pa drivers commuting in NJ are recent residents of NJ that moved west to save $$ (housing market in NJ is RIDICULUS!)

Perhaps because I've been driving in NJ for so long I don't find it so horrible, maybe I've become one of them? I've never live in NJ.....I found some of the worst drivers in Conneticut and Massachusetts, but the winner in my book is the Rt 19 area of western Florida around Tampa where all the old bad NY and NJ drivers have retired and added decrepitness to their driving resumes. They are absolutely frightening!!

I've lived in London and Brussels, driven in both, as well as many of the major cities in Europe. Paris and Rome are probably the worst. Worse than ANYTHING here in the States. Besides all the testosterone infused frustrated Formula 1 drivers on the road, there are Citroen 2CV (Deux Chavoix or 2 horses for the 2 French Horsepower they deliver) and DAK's (first mass produced variable transmission) which are driven by idiots by nature, and mopeds which a another special European curse!

Arcadia is awful. It's a mix of older drivers who drive slow, and a bunch of kids with riced cars who watched way too much fast and furious.

And then you get off the roads, pull into the asian market, and get dinged with like 15 shopping carts, and an older lady in a Toyota Sienna ready to slam into the side of your car because she's not looking while she's backing up. :roflpuke2:

StLRedrider 06-05-2009 04:21 PM

There are some real winners here is the StL. Stop signs, whatz a stops signs? And the texting that goes on, Damn that is so anoying. I was out with one of my guys cutting grass awhile back driving from one yard to the next and look over at him and he's texting driving one of my work trucks fully loaded down with his knees, you talk about pissed.
