In this case (and im not meaning to bash you op) the op made a bad decision to pass, (yes it was legal) but if he had more patience and waiting behind the other cars he wouldnt have crashed.

I agree with you, it was my choice to pass and I should of waited, 30 seconds more and I would of been ok.
