Casey and Zeda
For those of you that love cars and dogs you may appreciate this story:
My heart was broken when I learned that my beloved Australian Shepherd, Casey was diagnosed with liver cancer, which at that point was clearly terminal. A more loyal, loving and well behaved companion a man could not ask for and I am thankful for every day she was in my life. Thankfully she was with me another 6 months which I could appreciate her that much more, and at that time I bought Zeda, my 370Z, which was perfect for Casey since she didn't have to jump up too far to get into. But at last the time came where the pain was too great and I had to make that hardest decision. In my grief and not thinking clearly, I decided on a Tuesday to have her put down on Thursday. Wednesday was a terrible day, where I was kept in the office far too long, wanting to spend as much time with Casey in her last hours on this earth. When leaving the office around four in the afternoon I attempted to start Zeda but with no result. Zeda was not going anywhere except attached to tow truck on her way to the dealership. Obviously I had to reschedule with the veterinarian, which I did for the next Monday allowing me the whole weekend to spend with her. It was a wonderful weekend where Casey was able to visit and say goodbye to all her human and canine friends alike providing me with priceless memories and time focusing on her presence. I am not a religious person, but I do feel that god reached down and disabled Zeda giving me the gift of that last weekend. For that reason Zeda is a very special car and will never be sold. She is much more than a car to me. http://www.the370z.com/members/black...daandcasey.jpg |
Sorry for your loss. :( She looks almost exactly like my Aussie, Hunter. They are so smart. :)
|
Sorry for your loss as well. It's not the length of life, but the quality ... and she looks as though she had a great quality of life with you.
|
sorry for your loss. :(

Losing such a wonderful companion is always very hard to deal with. I am not looking forward to when our Jack Russell Terrier passes away. Just cherish the wonderful memories.

Thanks for the kind words all. You definitely know where I am coming from. Zeda and Casey will forever be linked on a very deep, spiritual level with me.
|
That is a very touching story. I am sorry for your loss, it must be hard to lose a best friend.
|
Sorry for your loss. I have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I know how devestated I would be in the same situation. My heart goes out to you and your family
|
Sorry for your loss. But glad, that fault gave both of you more time. Its harder when we know, that family member (which our pets are) will pass away after some time.
|
very sorry for your loss.

Very Sorry for the Loss
I understand how you feel. I lost my Dog a couple of years ago also. :( |

Sorry for your loss. :( |
Very sorrry for your loss. This made me pretty sad and now I want to go home early to walk my dog! :(

Losing a friend is always tough. As long as she was happy, that's all that matters. She got to ride in the Z so I bet she was happy.

I am sorry for your loss.
