I had the Escort Solo2. Cordless for convenience.
Not bad, but then upgraded to the Passport 9500IX. Much greater range, plus GPS, which eliminates false alarms.

You can go through the "menu" on the V1 and disable the band(s) that are commonly used in town via sliding doors etc which will increase your sensitivity of the other bands that your police departments may actually use. I dont have any false alerts since i have changed the bands it looks for.
I've had my V1 for 5 years in many different cars saved my *** to many times to count. Arrows are useful along with the strength meter it allows you to better see where the cop is if he is coming towards you or waiting, coming up behind you etc. Range for me has never been a problem, furthest distance picked up is over a mile as i was passing through the desert, havn't been surprised though either. Also a radar detector is not a cop detector just simply detects their tools if they are on. ^^had to say it because sometime people think they are invisible with any detector.

The v1 also picks up lazer but by then its too late unless you have a jammer. Well thats 4 times over 3 years (one out of state) but yeah i definitely need to watch it for a while

V1. I love it. It saved me from a laser due to the cop shot a car a couple of hundred yards in front of me, giving me time to slow a little. This is about the only way it can work against a laser.

to add this is about the only way any laser detector that isn't a jammer will work best. You are pretty much screwed when it comes to laser as the beam width is about the size of a pencil and has less scatter, where as radar is really wide and has a lot of scatter.

I swear by the Escort. I have had a few and all have been top notch.
