Xbox 360 vs PS3

So heres the deal:

Just bought an Xbox 360 Slim about two weeks ago. Now I find out that every god dang person is on PS3 and I've been told the 360 isn't true 1080p!!!! Is it worth it to go and buy another system?? I'm one of those Amazon Prime members so I was thinking about getting a 320gb there for $296.99. Again, I wanted sum opinions. Is it worth the Cash??

Honestly they're both really old systems and I'm surprised you got into it so late into the systems life. They're both pretty cheap buy both. Unless you want true 1080p you need a plasma tv not lcd.

Long story short, I had a 360 when they first came out but let my old roommate have it when I moved out. Been rolling PC since, but sh*t its getting expensive to constantly upgrade something. And yea, Im have a Plasma in the living room. My biggest concern is if its the same the the 360, or if its that big of a difference.

I'm sure you're aware that you should get the same console your friends have so you can play online with them. The new xbox is the same xbox you had before but now you have a hdmi port. I need great graphics so only the pc and ps3 will do for me. Not to start a ps3 vs xbox debate since they're both ancient hardware. I buy the pc version over ps3.

Yea, true. Hooking it up with friends aint that big of a deal for me since we always have different schedules. But if the PS3 is comparable to the PC's graphics then that makes it worth getting. If the PS4 was coming out soon, i might just wait for that lol

I would only ever consider buying a PS3 for its bluray player. As such, I would never buy a PS3.

It just doesn't have anything not also on the 360. Except Uncharted 3, which looks like the bees knees. And Darth Vadar in Soul Caliber, but I hated him in that game.... And graphics wise, its not any better than the 360.

On a related note, the next gen PS4 and 720 should be about 2 years away, 3 tops. The 360 still has Halo 4 being released November of next year and they are not going to knee cap their flagship title by giving it a short multi-player life. I expect the 720 to be Christmas time of 2014 or early in 2015. The PS4 will probably launch around a similar time.

Only reason I could see the next gen consoles coming sooner is if MS decided to use Halo 4 as a launch title which would be the sex.

The ps3 exclusive games like killzone 3 and uncharted look better than any xbox game. The ps3 doesn't have pc graphics but the graphics still amaze me. Get the ps3 if there are any ps3 games that interest you.

It all comes down to the type of games you want to play. Personally, I've been hook on the Playstation and Gran Turismo since '98 so the PS3 was the natural choice for me. I've tried the Xbox a few times and really didn't care for the controllers but that is just me.

They are both great systems but my opinion will lean more toward the PS3.

For most games, the difference between the graphics is a wash. Technically the PS3 is capable of better graphics, but in reality the system is hard to program for and many games are just ports of 360 games anyway. In general, buy the system that has more of the games you like.

I have both, but I end up playing the 360 more because the multiplayer voice chat is much better integrated and it typically has more of the games I want. There are exceptions ... Catherine and GT5 were great games on the PS3, but Gears of War 3 and Forza 4 are great games on the Xbox.

The controllers are somewhat polarizing. Unlike Eric, I prefer the Xbox controller -- I like the triggers better than the R2 buttons and I like the heft of the Xbox controller as well.

Find a friend with both systems (or two friends that each have a different one) and check out their games

I have to give you that, I did like the trigger over the X button on the Xbox controller and I also preferred using the joystick on the Xbox controller over the joystick of the PS3 controller. There was nothing wrong with the controller I just didn't care for the overall bulkiness of the Xbox controller.

But since I picked up the Logitech G27 I no longer use the controller for racing any longer.

360 all the way, and I was a sony guy since the ps1 first came out still have my ps2, but when the 3 came out decided to go for the 360, love the multiplayer on the 360 and exclusive games like Halo.

Yup. for me it was the DFGT and the MS Wireless, but now I have the Fanatec CSR that works for both

But my vote is heavily on the PS3 side. PS3 games are much better and the only one it doesnt have that is good is Gears of War, i personally think Halo games are lame... The other PS3 exclusives are awesome (Uncharted 1 and 2, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Gran Turismo, Killzone 3, and others to come....)

Also, neither system has "true 1080p" as 99% of games are actually made at a lower resolution and then upscaled... if you want the best graphics, go PC and hook that up...

With that said, its totally worth it. You can get the new Uncharted 3 pack with a 320 GB for $300. The games worth $60, comes with a controller, its a bluray player which alone will cost $150 for a wireless one (I think thats current prices)... and i use it to connect to my computer and play music, videos, photos..... Im a fan if you couldnt tell lol
