License suspension
i dont know if this is the right section, but i am on my provisional license and i have gotten 2 tickets prior. Back in january I got a letter in the mail saying my license would be suspended, but i appealed the suspension and the judge lifted it. The judge said next ticket i get is a automatic 180 day suspension. Last week i get another ticket by a state trooper going 95 in a 65. i plan on fighting the ticket, but i probably will lose. Right now i am awaiting the court date for the ticket. If i lose, then i will get the suspensioin notification in the mail which i will also lawyer up for and try to fight. But what i am asking is if anybody knows if i can get a drivers license in a different state that doesnt cohere to the interstate compact before my license even gets suspeded. I already know you cant do that if it is suspended, i am asking if you can do that before it gets suspended?

Sorry, I'm sure this isn't the response you were looking for, and I'm waiting to get flamed by the rest of the Board, but sometimes you need to man up and accept the consequences of your actions. Good luck. Some of life's best lessons are the hardest to learn.

i understand all of that, but i have something called a job and without a license i cannot get to and from that job. Without the job i wont be able to take care of my self and stay on top of my bills. Imean i know some of you all are gonna be dicks and say man up and all this other ****.. but i am just asking for some input to help the situation, not a mommy and daddy lecture. If you dont have anything helpful to say dont respond...

you effed up bad. You havnt learned from this and your not going to. Hopefully you will though As for advice, not much you can really do. Its generally better to go in and explain your job situation etc rather than go in and try to fight it in a defensive manner. Lawyer may help you get something off like community service, a major fine, driver courses etc etc, you should be happy if you get such an option. It may come with a 30 day suspension instead of 180. Oh and for everyone being a "****" to you, those guys are being helpful. Because if their advice sticks in your head you wont be making a thread like this again in 7 months. As for your if i dont drive i dont have a job etc etc speech, thats why people with something to lose, generally heed the warning and leniancy they were given. And I have no clue on this last matter, but is the car and motorcycle license the same? could look into a bike and that stuff. Although if you drive like that on a bike you most likely will just end up in a worse situation. |

You can't get another state license in the meantime unless you have legitimate plans of moving. You might try, heck you might even be successful but I would think it will catch up with you when you do go to court.
In the event, your license gets suspended for a while, you could: Get a friend to give you a ride to/from work Look into public transportation Move closer to work Please be mindful of other drivers/pedestrians safety!

Do you know me or my situation. Do you know why i was speeding 95 in a 65 or why i got the first two tickets. No you dont. You are sitting at your computer judging me, without know anything about my situation. If one of your family memebers was in a emergency would you speed to there aid.... I repeat i came in here for some helpful input, not a bunch of negative responses.

Don't know what the laws are where you are but I know here in Ohio alot of the time you can get "work privileges" while your license is suspended. All this means is that your allowed to drive to and from work while your license is suspended. Just don't try and drive anywhere else while on "work privileges" cause if you get caught no more work privileges.
If you can't do the time then don't commit the crime.

here's a not mommy and daddy response
you should have bought a radar detector if you wanted to speed all the time. With a good enough lawyer you should be able to avoid the suspension. it will cost you a lot though. you should at the very least be able to arrange some sort of provisonal lisence that allows you to only drive to and from work.
