You already have Dual-channel DDR3 right? And all the other goodies? It'll run you $400.

I have actually tried everything in that thread and no luck. I think it is a broader issue because I still hard lockup after the sound card and with or without cf enabled.
I might try putting my old mobo back in to see if it could be a mobo issue, but right now I am leaning towards a i7 and new mobo and triple channel ram or a new amd build depending on how much I am willing to spend. At the end of the day bf3 will have cost me a couple grand. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk

is your hyper threading disabled or enabled?
Forcing constant voltage to your gpus? My bf3 was super buggy when I first starting using the 6950. What I had to do to fix it was re-enable HT, not allow ati to install it's own audio driver, and replace my 600 watt psu with a 750 watt. The first two things made my bf3 stop stuttering and crashing. Replacing the PSU made my computer stop crashing when under load. Whenever your bf3 crashes or locks up, it should keep a log as to why things are happening. Last edited by ggiwin; 12-24-2011 at 06:14 PM. |

Did some more testing (including a lot of Memtest86+) and I think that all of the memory slots but one are bad on my board. Pulling all but one stick (4GB) seems to stop the crashing.
Performance is roughly the same (crappy Crossfire scaling) but at least it seems to be stable now... So I think I can play like this for a while until I figure out where I want to go to finish this "build."

*sigh* I can't justify an AMD CPU...
I think the strategy will be to deal with it until Ivy Bridge comes... then pick up an i7-2600k and corresponding mobo when the prices come down.
