Basement Flooded

I need some insight or advise. Early this week my sprinkler system pipe burst where it comes into my house. This caused water and some mud to flood my basement. One of the things that got pretty wet and dirty is my 40th anniversary car cover. I have insurance that I will be claiming items which incurred damage, but does any one know if the cover can be washed? Also, is this an item the dealer would sell and if so, what is the going rate? I don't want to risk damaging the paint on my car :/

Does it have a tag on it saying to wash to it??
Is it made of cotton?? does it have a special liner inside of it?? If just cotton I would guess
to be ok to wash, you could gently handwash with woolite, maybe call the dealer and
get there opinion to.

I will check for a tag. If there was one, I would bet I cut it out to avoid rubbing. The inside I do believe is a softer material and the outside is more polyester if I were to guess.

You will be best off buying a new cover as it is nearly impossible to get every single bit of grit out even if you wash it several times. I would try and claim it on insurance, it costs $389 from the dealer I use for parts which has been the best parts pricing pretty consistently.

$389!? Wow, I'll be claiming that.

It is pretty expensive for sure! It is a nice keepsake for your 40th though.
