Audio, I had a question, when getting a custom trunk built for subs, they are most always built as non-ported designs right? Or how would you go about building proper chambers and all for a ported design? Cause the subs/box I have now is ported and I love it. I wanna keep that, but I can't keep the box since it barely fits in my tC, there's no way it will fit in the Z but im gonna be using the same subs/amp setup.

Well most setups are sealed but for others they use custom chambers that they build from using programs that help find out how to Tune there boxes and all. I never get rely into all that because I prefer sealed and if I do go ported there not going to be tuned for something crazy like 14 hrz. The custom boxes as I said are most likely sealed. In your z you are not going to need half of what you used in your tc. Much less air space to fill with bass. You should be good wither sealed ir ported with one sub.

I want to, I just don't like giving up my spare for it... as shitty as the roads here are, I don't really wanna risk that lol. Do you know of anyone who makes custom enclosures for Kicker subs? Or if there is a Z specific box built that I can just put a stencil onto?
My current setup (tC): Subs: 2x Kicker S10L7's 1x Kicker KX 1200.1 Custom Kicker Ported Box Doors: 2x Kicker SS6.5's 1x ZX250.2 HU: Panasonic CQ-C9701

This is what happens when you scrape the bottom of the barrell, sift out the good stuff thats left, grind down whats left from that... visually inspect for defects, submit to below par standards, still don't pass, and then get the seal of disapproval. But yet these are the people who deal with the money... go figure.

But yeah, they have always sounded wonderful, even with just the single amp... I can't imagine how it would be if I had them at full potential. Another good quality of the tC, I have zero sound damping material built into the car, however even with the stereo up pretty loud, you can barely hear it standing next to the car.

if i were to put a system in my z, i'd keep it rather basic...
i would want a enclosure that I could keep my spare (sport) and only have a 10 inch sub. 2 small amps and a cap to power the speakers with out drawing alot of power from the battery. obviously I would want it all hidden. is this too much to ask for? |
