Interesting.

Here in Louisiana, in that case, everything goes into an estate until a judgment of possession is filed.

I assume that's how it is in other states, but I'm not 100% sure.

Man, I wish things were like that here. It would make my job (mineral rights title) so much easier.

If there's no judgment, I get stuck trying to figure out who owns what. If some jerk years ago didn't have a will in the 1920s, I may end up having to figure what percentage is owned by hundreds of heirs (if I can even do that).

That sounds like a frustrating gig.

It can be. That 'bubblin crude' pays well, though.

Yeah, basically. It's a good idea to have a will on file regardless of your status.

You never know what can happen & it's better to have your possessions spoken for as opposed to letting it be squabbled over.

I'm not sure I like either way. Seems like it should be in the middle, i.e. an understanding that leftovers will go to spouse, followed by children, followed by parents. if you get to the deceased' parents and no one applies, THEN go to the state.

Pragmatically, I agree completely.

Selfishly, I like the Canadian way.

Friend of mine is selling his 91 300z TT, in a bad spot on cash and is looking for a quick sale.

Title status: Good, in hand.

The good:
It's cheap
It's TT
Title in hand
And... it's cheap..

The bad:
It got impounded, and as of today, it's gonna cost 370$ to get it out (Add's 30$ a day until removed)

He's asking 1800$ plus impound fee's.

Car runs great, has no A/C. Few body damages, nothing big.

Contact:
Cell - ***-***-****, Guy's name is Sam

1800+Impound fee's and you'll have a nice 300zx TT!!
I'm interested, but the no A/C might be a deal breaker.

I'm probably going to pass. I'd like it, but I need a beater & for that money, I can pick up an old Civic or a G20.

It's tempting, though.

With an eighteen-year-old car, there'll probably be eighteen-year-old problems.

I hear what youre saying, but my idea of a beater if something I can get completely sideways in and have a blast with, without worrying about chips in paint and dings in the rims.

I want something good on gas with A/C. Beyond that, I don't care. I need to stop putting miles on my 350Z. It's on Tein Monoflex coilovers-- they're too rough for daily use &, realistically, I'm wasting miles counting down to an eventual rebuild by driving on LA's awful roads.
