hmmm both i guess. they aren't real big on letting you pet them per se. but he does let you scratch his head if he's mellow. you have to give them a shower once a week or so to keep their dander down, or they get dusty.

his name is Maile. and he was around long before Miley Cyrus FWIW. I named him that because i lived in hawaii. they eat just about anything a human can. but they can get fat quickly since they don't get that much exercise. they can live 80 years though.

pretty much, when we get old we will need to figure out what to do with him. many don't make it that long because they get so fat, but even at age 50 we'll be in our 80s....

his wings are clipped. just enough to keep him from flying far away, but enough that he can fly forward and not injure himself if he falls from his stand or a tree branch. and they are usually $800 on up. about the same price as a pure bred dog.

that's not too bad I thought they were a lot more. Or is it the McCaw's or whatnot that are like in the thousands easy, that or I'm just remembering completely wrong which is known to happen quite often lol. That's cool so he'll just go up in a tree and chill then come back when it's time to go inside, never heard of a bird doing that.
