We have a brand new house with a heat pump, but we heated almost all winter with wood from our property, we have 5 acres. Our fireplace is really cool, it has a separate air intake outside the house so it doesn't pull in and waste the heated air, and it allows it to burn very hot/clean, you can't even see the smoke coming out of the chimney once the fire is hot. |
