Yes, you need them. They catch the fat drippings and turn them into smoke, which in turn adds flavor to your meat.

so i dump them on top of the plate that goes over the burners?
the instructions that came with it are crap !! lol...picking it up was jokes......no way does it fit in the G so i brought the 6000 there...still didnt fit....so i played Tetris with all the parts and boxes in the parking lot with my car....hahahaha |

i'll get these ceramic briquettes tomorrow and i bought a propane tank....i think i got to fill it up...doesnt say if it's full already...
Deluxe Ceramic Briquettes | Canadian Tire the bbq is quite an adventure.....lol....simple thing but went on and on....hahaha |

You don't just dump them. You arrange them in a nice even layer. Any chance you can post a pic of the burner setup? I'm going off of memory here, because Webers don't use the ceramic briquettes, they use these angled bars that take care of catching/smoking the fat drippings.

do briquette go right on the burners......because i have a angled piece of metal that goes on top of the burners |
