It really depends on where you are in media right now. If you use Itunes then go with the Iphone 5. If not, go with the galaxy.

P.S. The ATT thrill (really the LG Optimus 3D in disguise) is a better performing phone then either one of these.

No real info on the next iPhone so hard to compare it to current generation phones.
Honestly, if you need a phone, best bet is not to wait unless you know exactly what is coming in the next 3-5 weeks. After that release dates and phones will constantly be changing.

I dont use Itunes,

Just did a quick google about ATT thrill, I like the futures and the 3D options, but how about the software?

I never saw this LG smartphone, so just asking if the software is good as Galaxy s2/iphones..

Looks like the AT&T Thrill is running Android 2.2

True....2.2 at release....but..you can mod to CM7 and be on 2.3.4 very easily.

Yeah, but not everybody wants to root a phone to run the latest firmware or knows how.
Though with how companies are getting with bloatware on these phones it is almost required to do it and get a clean phone. :shakes head:

wait till later int he year. new phones are about to get released with newer hardware series and also be ready for the true att 4g network.

Iphone 4 is your best bet, the 5 won't be out for at least another six months IMO.

iPhone 5 in September, looks like. It will be a hot seller again, Apple reportedly has a production target of 25 million phones by the end of the year. No solid info about what features it might have over the iPhone 4. Rumor has it that it will be thinner and lighter, same A5 processor as the iPad 2, and a dual baseband chip (CDMA and GSM in the same phone).

You might at least want to review what iOS5 is going to bring to the table when it's released in the fall. That will run on an iPhone 4. Apple claims over 200 new features, quite an impressive revamp according to beta testers.

Don't be fooled though. To Apple, making the e-mail finally go horizontal when the phone is flipped is considered a feature.

Right. I'm sure if Apple was more on the ball, the iPhone would be a successful product.

Blue370tt 07-10-2011 04:17 PM

As someone who lives and breathes the specs on these phones DAILY....its very unlikely the Iphone5 will be any more "advanced" then the ATT tilt.

Also, if you mod your car, you should be able to mod your phone. Its not hard.

And lastly, why would someone in this thread recommend buying the Iphone4? Its not like buying an older 370z.....its not any cheaper. In fact, Apple always holds pricing UNTIL AFTER the release of the new item.

I am not an Iphone guy BUT the 5 will be out in September. I would go android because I like it better. No major changes coming to Android/hardware until quad cores and icecream in 2012.

P.S. Anything new from ATT will be using ATT 4g as well.

You misunderstand me completely. I'm just saying they consider absolutely everything as a feature.

No, I understood you perfectly. It just didn't make sense.

If that indeed is Apple's general marketing concept, it's certain that the rest of the industry will soon copy them. Again.

I would wait for the iPhone 5 before making a decision. I've had the chance to play around with the latest Atrix and Nexus from my co-workers and I was not impressed. They all agree it doesn't run as smooth or as fluid as my iPhone 4. But they love tweaking it out with roms and compiling their own kernels. My iPhone is pretty tweaked out; it doesn't look or run like your out of the box iPhone. But I've seen some pretty cool things you can do with the Android OS that you'll never be able to do with iOS.

The iPhone is a great phone and its only getting better. Androids come in many flavors, make sure you do your research and choose the one that's best for you.

It is their marketing concept. It happens at every convention they do. They put up that big number and then go into some of the "features". It's some major fluffing, but it works. I don't know if other companies would copy that kind of marketing strategy exactly, although minor feature highlights are becoming more of a norm these days.
