Greeting your neighbors
As some of you may know, I have just bought a home and had moved in. I'm curious to know if I should go greet my neighbors or wait if they want to come say hi first. Since I plan to live here for a long time, I want to have a good relationship with the other owners near me. How well do you know your neighbors and when you was the new neighbor, did you go introduce yourself or wait for them to come introduce themselves?

Both. Two of my neighbors are extroverts with a capital "E". They always want to talk and if they see me outside, they'll go out of their way to ease over. My other neighbors are friendly, but mostly keep to themselves. (One is a military pilot - drives a Corvette - scrapes the living he11 out of his front spoiler/lip backing out of his driveway every morning about 0600 like clockwork.)
I'd say it depends on your personality. If you enjoy meeting and talking, have at it. |

I bought my first house last year. Are you going to have a housewarming? I think that's a good step for you to invite them & introduce yourself as a new neighbor by the way congrats to your new home.

My first encounter with my new neighbors a couple weeks back was at 11:30 at night, me in a wife beater carrying a machette chasing down teenagers that were screwing around near my car. Of course when they saw me there were no teenagers there and just me looking like a nut job.

Wait till you see them outside to say hi or wave. Then introduce. Of course, if you're throwing a house warming party, then invite your neighbors.
