Default Pregnant wife with twins is acting strange

Long time no see everyone!

First, great news. I got married (nope, not the good part) and after several months we're finally pregnant. We found out last week she's having twins!

So anyways, I know lots of guys here have probably had the exact experience I'm having, and I need some advice.

She's only 8 weeks along and she's already "cut me off". I can't touch her (or vice versa) or she starts dry-heaving like she's gonna puke. For the most part, I can't even ask her stressful questions like "Do you want to go back to work after the babies are born?" or "Which room would you like to be the nursery?" or she starts throwing up and going crazy.

She's not talking to me much. Can't really get much out of her. I know she's young (25) and stressed out, but she's wanted kids for years (we've been together almost 8 years, married about 7 months). We're more than fine, financially, even if she never goes back to work the rest of her life. I'm not real certain why she's acting so weird.

I know she's having twins, and from what I read...it can be rough. Double hormones (each baby has it's own sac/placenta), etc. etc. But is this normal? I thought most women don't go into "turtle mode" until 8 months or so. I know I can handle doing all the cooking, cleaning, working, taking care of our dogs, bringing her a glass of water, etc for a few weeks at the end...but I'm not sure I can handle 7 more months of this.

Any advice? Try to get her to ask for some medication from her doctor? Maybe this is just normal for 1st trimester? Suck it up and let her stay in this weird mood until the babies are born? HALP!

P.S. Really glad I traded in the Z now....no room for 2 carseats!

I think the "we're finally pregnant" part is very concerning. A man should not be pregnant too!

Sorry dude, but suck it up! She'll get used to it a little better and should be able to deal with it more and towards the end it will get even worse... It's all for a good cause and congrats!!!

It sounds a little hinky to me. It sounds like more than just hormones. Don't try to guess what's going on, ask her. I don't believe I would accept a "nothing's wrong" answer. At the minimum, just let her know that you are there and available for her. Don't be selfish because she is bearing a whole lot more discomfort than you are.
And yes, you can handle this for seven more months if you have to. She is carrying your two children and deserves all of your help.

She is right...you are wrong

She is stressed........you can't possibly understand

She will have infinite needs.....you will provide for all of them

How do I know?

I have 2 set of twins (plus 2 more) .

Seriously, every woman and every pregnancy is different but one thing seems to be fairly common. They either have a miserable first or miserable 3rd trimester. I prefer to get the miserable over early, myself. As far as "handling it", dude, you don't even get to vote!

You should probably just kill her and bury the body in the back yard. You know... just in case.

lol - welcome to being married
Once the kids come, everything changes
& have her stay away from as much medication as possible, whatever she takes is shared with your kids - & I don't care how safe they claim it to be!

This is normal behavior. Most all of these models exhibit some sort of transmission whine, clutch clunking, and low-rpm hesitation especially after oil temps have risen beyond 220*F. If you really feel like there's a problem, you can take it in for service and see what the dealership thinks.

I think that applies to women as well...

Don't worry too much. The first trimester can be really tough on your wife physically. I'm sure it only doubles with twins. Just do everything you can to comfort her. Things will get better after the first trimester passes. You will get a break for a few months and then the 3rd just brings a whole new set of issues.

Are you that guy from the TV commercial? You know, the guy who stretches his 370 into a Maxima?

Matt,

Stick with her and show her patience and understanding. Eventually she'll come to appreciate that, and once the little codgers show up, you'll need each other very much.

Of course, all relationships are different, but congrats on the bbz!!!

Cut her some slack, in 7 months she'll have to pop out (2) PEOPLE out of her va-jay-jay. I'd be stressed too, wouldn't you?

Oh.... & Congratulations!
