Broken leg/ankle, Motorcycle Accident :(
So i had a lowside on one of my bikes about one month ago. Spiral fractured my fib and tib mid shaft. Also broke my ankle, so now i have a foot long titanium rod in my shin. Sad part is its my right leg!! So there will be no :driving: for me :owned: Getting there though, doc says about one more month before im cleared for jumping back in the seat. Plus i get to park my Z in disabled spots for 6 months haha! Anyways back to work, and my goal of FI by spring!

oucchhhh....good luck on recovering....any perm damage?
|
Ouch! Hope you have a speedy recovery and for gods sake take care. :tiphat:
|
Well…at least the Z is parked during the crappy weather. Hope all goes well with recovery! I know a great PT in Snoqualmie (works with football teams) who can really make the recovery go well if you are interested.

Riding a motorcycle in Jan/Feb in Seattle? Wow, that takes some balls - should have been driving the Z instead!
Good luck on a speedy recovery! |
I hope for a speedy recovery for ya. Life brings us all kinds of things.
|
That's knarly! Good luck and I hope you have a quick recovery.
|
I am so sorry Nitex to hear about your leg. In 2003 i put down my bike on my left leg and also had a Spiral fractured in my fib and tib mid shaft, broke in five differant places. Also have a metal plate and thirteen screws holding it all together so I can totaly related on how you are feeling. it will take time to heal, be patient.

I hope you have a speedy recovery. Good luck!!!!
|
Glad to see you came out of that and I hope the bike is not a total loss. Best wishes from all of us at The Nismo Shop!

DAYUMMMMMM boy! thats a nice spiral fracture you got there! but the rod looks good! You'll be walking in no time! do you still have the cast on or did they already take it off? hopefully you won't have to get a boot tho they are kinda annoying but good luck with your recovery! :)
|
I guess you weren't wearing high boots?
How's the bike? Speedy recovery!!! |
Get any good drugs out of this at least?

Thanks everyone for the kind words!
GZ3, ill always know whats my good leg and whats not. But i should heal up fairly well. Nikon, i may hit you up for the PT, but Seattle is a bit far for me, I am up north. Chris, yeah i work at boeing, and its either a 5minute ride in the cold for easy access bike parking. Or a 20 minute walk in the cold, after parking a mile away from the factory. After this i guess ill be taking the walk option haha. Gorpie ouch! Yeah it sucks, but im just glad to be past the pain. Thanks Scott and nismo shop. Ill be back buying stuff sooner than later haha. Sun, i got the cast off and yes the annoying moon boot is in use. I only use it when i leave the house, and today was my first day back to work so im using it here. The rod does look like its in there well, and soon as my ankle is nice and set ill start slowly walking. Xan, your correct i was not wearing my Sidi's - boots. I do wonder if they would have saved me though. As the inside of the boot is fairly soft. Most of the protection is on the heel side, and outside of the boot. And finally Jordo, i got some oxy's but i stopped taking them few weeks ago. I had an ex GF get hooked and ruined over those things. Thanks again everyone! |
Also my R1 Is fine. It all happened on the day I decided to warm up my supermoto (basically a Motocross bike with street tires) and drive it to work. Damage was fairly minimal as that thing can take a good beating. I usually ride my 1K so I leaned over like usual and cold tires that need replacing just let go. All my fault really, lesson learned.
