A Generation Passes
 

I dont know how many other Vets there are on this board but I guess Ill find out. Frank Buckles, the last living World War 1 vet passed on today. I myself served in the Army for 4 years and always feel a tug at my heart for those that served and Mr.Buckles being the last known WW1 vet passing on did it for me. Just thought Id make this thread to post a tribute to him and to all on here that have served or know someone that has served.

RIP, the end of an era so to speak.

I am currently serving and it saddens me to hear another generation of brothers has passed away into history. It is important to me that I teach my son the sacrifices of this generation and those before them made in order to keep their memory alive and not just be a footnote in a history book, that is if society deems it important. Our WWI vets went off to war willingly to fight for what they felt was right not for the medals, or parades but for what they felt was right. I can only hope our generation realizes that it was this character that made America the greatest country on this small spec in the universe and I hope that Americans will once again rise up for what is right and quit looking the other way just because it is easier. We must never forget those that have gone before us.
